AD&D 1E What was the reason for Demihuman level and class limits in AD&D?

It wouldn't be surprising. Gygax certainly has both changed his mind, and just changed his statements (because the original statement was in his official TSR position).

    Goodman Games 3.5 Revival

Now, I haven't followed the Pathfinder development closely. However, I was surprised when I saw the Free RPG Day Pathfinder Bonus Bestiary was all 3.5 monsters converted to the Pathfinder system. This doesn't bode too well for "easily converted." Maybe it is easy work and they are just saving...

    Goodman Games 3.5 Revival

Expeditious Retreat Press has a series called "Lands of Darkness" that are basically location based adventures. I haven't picked one up yet to speak to the actual product, but I have been very satisfied with them before.

    KotS - Glyphs

I, as mentioned above, wouldn't allow a simple plank to work. A raised plank that doesn't touch the runes (or get too near them), I would allow to work.

    KotS - Glyphs

Well, the trap does state... ... "A terror rune is triggered whenever a PC enters a square that contains part of a design." So, I say yes. The PC being in contact with something in contact is enough. In fact, just being near the runes seems enough (unless they jump in the air_.

AD&D 1E What was the reason for Demihuman level and class limits in AD&D?

Also, saying there is one reason for anything would be a mistake as well. I am sure there are many reasons for such rules.

AD&D 1E What was the reason for Demihuman level and class limits in AD&D?

But there was a thought. Gygax stated at the time that level limits were to balance out the fact that had extra abilities. Basically in AD&D the theory was that being amazing at certain levels was balanced by being horrible at others (see the magic-user class).

    Classic D&D Product List/Wiki?

A good supplement to the Acaeum is the TSR Archive which covers things the Acaeum doesn't (but not in as much detail). The Acaeum does Judges Guild, as well as the Judges Guild Codex. The TSR Archive covers Role Aids.

    Why 30-level adventure paths?

I suspect Revenge of the Giants is what you are looking for. Personally, I would prefer something closer to the original Adventure Path (Sunless Citadel, Forge of Fury, et. al.) moved in the direction towards Paizo's Dungeon Adventure Paths. Have each adventure be stand-alone but have much...

I have the Eberron Player's Guide and Kingdom of Ghouls

The term you are looking for is homunculus. They are a lot more golem-like in Eberron than the old school homunculus.

DDI Character Builder: sorcerers with staves?

This has come up before. I believe the answer was that the "staff as implement" and "staff as weapon" are two separate items in the character builder. I will have to go look.

    What makes a setting dull?

That describes Middle Earth very well. Thinking back, Middle Earth has never been very popular as an RPG setting. It has had it's fan, and been successful. However, for such a key ancestor of RPGs, it really wasn't as successful as ypu would expect.

    What makes a setting dull?

It is so much a matter of taste that it's going to vary widely. That's why there is so much variety in published settings now. Now, for me it's the need to be so different that you have little in common with your character and can't relate to the world. If the designer(s) need to keep telling...

    6/2 DDI update complete!

I agree, and my "what would be even better" is if I could put in 3rd party material I own. I have the Creature Collection, Dungeon Denizens, and the various Critter Caches. It would be great to have them included when I want to search for aberrants between 10th and 14th level.

    No update for the C-Builder

The updates typically have been going up much later in the day (plus, it's not even quite Tuesday there).

[Goodman Games] Releases for Free RPG Day

In previous years there have been such rules, so I would expect so this year. However, in previous years publishers have put their products up online at a later date either free, or for a slight charge. Again, I would expect to see this happen again this year. Of course, you might be missing...

    Khyber's Harvest

Also, it has pregenerated characters within, listed on a thread elsewhere here (focusing on the fact that one is Kalashtar).

What are you interested picking up at Free RPG Day?

Then we also have the issue of what to do when what you want runs out. This gives a better snapshot, IMO, of what people are interested in. For what its worth, I expect one of my FLGS to allow 1 each (and be down to next to nothing by the middle of the day) and the other to allow me to pretty...

What are you interested picking up at Free RPG Day?

Nothing officially. None of these things will be available that day (I believe that is the condition of participating). Paizo and WotC had their products later in years past. Green Ronin did the day of the first year, but that's because they missed the deadline. It would be nice to see who...

What are you interested picking up at Free RPG Day?

The Free RPG Day sites states that Goodman has three giveaways (and they work with Goodman, who is responsible for Free RPG Day, so you'd think they would have good communication) and lists the three things above. Goodman's site, on the other hand, only lists the bottom two projects and...
