Recommend Any Good CRPG with Mounts?

Elder Scrolls Oblivion at least has mods to add mounts. Just do a google search on it. I'm not sure if the game includes them unmodified though, but I haven't played the game myself.

City of Heroes coming out for Mac

Battle of Good vs. Evil Coming to the Mac! | City of Heroes Good news. Might just knock WoW off of my gaming schedule. This is the one other MMORG I've been interested in. No firm date yet, but it does say "This Fall" which is rapidly running out.

    Fallout 3 - Today's the day!

My amazon Survival edition just showed up (2 days early and in time for the weekend!). The Pip Boy clock I got it for is actually cooler than what I though it was. You can actually wear it like your character does in the game, but it doesn't have any alarm fuctions. It's crying out for someone...

    Cloudkill... Really?

A Staff of Power does do a hemispherical WoF, but around the user. You could do other shapes in previous editions I'm pretty sure.

    Cloudkill... Really?

"The caster can form the wall into a flat, vertical plane whose area is up to one 10- foot square per level. The wall must be continuous and unbroken when formed. If its surface is broken by any object or creature, the spell fails." It's WALL of Force, not cube or sphere of force. So that...

    Stupidity or Genius?

I thought it was a creative and innovative response to a no-win situation. I'd have given him bonus points for a clever idea. Is it metagamy? Sure to a certain extent, but when all your other options lead to an almost certain death and you are working within a system that imperfectly models...

    Cloudkill... Really?

I can't really comment on 4e, but in 3e it's main use is as an army killer, since it wipes out the low level sorts who make up the majority of armies. It isn't a spell for taking down BBEGs or any level equivalent monsters. You toss up a couple of walls of fire or something similar to block off...

Using an HDTV as a PC monitor?

Remember 1080p is only a max rez of 1920 x 1080, which is fairly low rez, especially for a screen as large as most TVs. Plus you'll be tying up your TV when ever you want to do computer stuff. You can get a decent 19" or 22" for $200 or less so. So I'd probably just get a monitor.

    I am Legend 2 for 2010 - WTF?

IIRC, it didn't do the "I am Legend" speech from the novel and exactly how he died was fairly different. Arguably it followed the "Show don't tell" principle for movies, but the screenplay for "Last Man on Earth" was co-written by Richard Matheson, so it seems likely that the changes weren't...

    Aeon (updated 10/9/14)

It's from the very end of the post where Nwm shatters the Temple Army. http://www.enworld.org/forum/story-hour/58227-tales-wyre-09-23-08-update-2.html#post1029552

IT Crowd - 10 pm Tuesdays on IFC

A very, very funny british show about some computer geeks and their misadventures. Has enshrined "Did you turn it off and back on again?" as the first law of computer tech support at my company. The IT Crowd on Automat | On IFC | IFC.com Highly recomended for anyone who has had to either deal...

The Superhero Movie equivalent to "odd-numbered Star Trek movies"

Actually, FF does break the pattern since #2 completely sucked and was way worse than the first film.

using magic missle to disrupt a spell

It's an inescapable artifact of a "I go/You go" system. The only system that I ever saw that made a real go of changing something like that was the impulse system in Star Fleet Battles. The sequence of play for each of the 32 impulses in a turn eventually consumed 2-3 pages of small double...

    First time druid

He said they had "no real power spells"... I didn't even get into the fact that the SNA spells generally get creatures on a SNA spell a full level ahead of what a wizard gets (The fiendish/celestial templates do NOT make up for this IME).

    First time druid

That MIGHT be true at low levels, but read this. http://www.enworld.org/forum/story-hour/58227-tales-wyre-09-23-08-update-2.html#post1029552 If you can still say that after reading this, then the guys with straight jackets will be showing up at your door shortly. It's also one of the best...

    "protection"

The SRD is your friend for these sorts of questions. SRD - Magic Potions, Rings, and Rods Though there is no such thing as a "vest of protection" at least not as a stock magic item in the DMG. Though there is little real reason why you couldn't have a vest that does the same thing as a ring of...

using magic missle to disrupt a spell

You can ready to counterspell, so there's no reason why you can't ready to cast a MM. It's a standard action to cast a MM, so I can't see why it would be denied. Can you tell us more as to why the DM disagreed? Is it some sort of a "balance" argument (IE. something along the lines of "It makes...

Does your party have a taxidermist?

In Shilsen's SH, we hired a taxidermist to stuff a Mind Flayer we killed. We use it to discourage door to door salesmen. We also have a petrified Beholder we are using as part of a fountain. Boy will it be unhappy if it ever gets unstoned...

    Your character died. Big deal.

You do know that's just a slighly changed knock off of a line from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"? It's at about 2:40 in this clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o76WQzVJ434
