    Is D&D Your Favorite RPG?

As A player, I have no favorite or preference so long as I'm having fun. But as a GM, no it is not, but once upon a time the answer would've been yes. Flavor wise, medieval fantasy, is my favorite genre. My problem lies with the mechanics of the system and more so the Class/Level...

Looking for a good mapping program.

originally posted by Wedgeski I purchesed the World Builder Bundle on May 12th. Per the CC3 web-page concerning upgrades: I meet the 3rd requirement, by pure stupid blind luck (of the good kind).

    The RPG Class Test

Spellsword 59% Combativeness, 50% Sneakiness, 76% Intellect, 16% Spirituality Aggressive, but with the brains to back it up: You are a Spellsword! Score! You have a prestige class. A prestige class can only be taken after you’ve fulfilled certain requirements. This may mean that you're an...

Looking for a good mapping program.

I just bought CC2Pro, a little over 2 weeks ago. I've played around with the free demo version a few years back and liked what I could do with it, I couldn't figure out Dundjini's demo for squat by comparison (but that's just me). As deltadave pointed out, it has a steep learning curve, but if...

Have You Introduced New People to RPGs?

Yes, 2 for certain and 2 I'm fairly certain of introducing to rpg's, and maybe more but damned if I can recall at the moment. My wife and an ex-girlfriend for certain. The two I'm less certain about were a couple of Germans I'd befriended while stationed oversea's in the Army, and while I'm...

Do You Use Your RPG Rules as Written?

Never, I've yet to find a published rpg system where I didn't make at least one minor change to the ruleset.

    Climate

My campaign is currently set in a borderland area. It's a mixture of Forest and Plains.

[Poll] Do you game with friends?

Option 1, not only friends but the best of friends. The kind who'll help dispose of a body when called up out of the blue in the middle of the night to help dispose of a body  (if ever such was necessary).

Where would you be Banished to?

I'm going to Dis. With all the other Heretics. And I bring the total up to five, just right for a 3.x/D20 sized group.

    Mechanics vs. Flavor text

I like fluff, give me plenty of description to get the creative juices flowing, even if the description is only an example.

    American Army or American army?

I response to Clashmore Dave's reference to sub-divisions being called armies. Yes there are sub units of the US Army refered to as an army, though in my experience they were refered to as a Corp. Unless things have greatly changed when i was in the Army back in '91, the US Army divided itself...

Packing for the Under Dark what to take

Chalk (various colors) and a hammer and chisel. To mark the trail in the event of a necessary expeditous retreat should any magical means be depleted or not available (and hopefully a lightsource or means of vision of some sort is still available to find said marks).

How is YOUR Forgotten Realms Different?

I haven't run an FR campaign in quite some time, when I do however, I run it as if the Time of Troubles never happened. I also play in a FR campaign where the GM sets the timeline roughly 100 years before the Time of Troubles, because he didn't care for it either. I never liked the fact that...

Santa's got more than coal for the naughty kids...

I'm not familiar with the different cultural variations on St. Nick. However, I do recall hearing once or twice as a child, that he also left behind switches for the naughty children in addition to the coal.

I got kicked out of my group!

Never been axed, but I've almost always been the DM. Back during the 1e days, I belonged to my high schools Dungeons & Dragons club (sorta like a Chess club, but we played D&D and other RPG's). Every Tuesday the school had a scheduled 45 minute Home Room Period, and if you didn't belong to one...

    Amazing Christmas Light Display

I'm not very impressed. Sure the timing is pretty awsome, but all those white lights just come off as plain old vanilla. Then again, for the last decade or so, it seems that white lights have been the dominant color at christmass time, where I prefer color.

    Do you wear a watch?

I haven't owned a watch since '90, IIRC. I carry a Nextel at work, so if there's a need to document something I get the time off of it. Otherwise I'll look at a clock if I need to know the time.

    Do you carry a pocketknife?

I carry a swiss army knife everywhere I go. It gets used for opening packages more than anything, but the other tools come in quite handy (especially the flat blade screwdriver) for other work purposes. I also keep a small knife with a locking blade close by, after having the swiss army knife...

If you could choose only one...

Basic/Expert, it's the only sytem listed that I have any real familiarity with. I have a later boxed edition of the OD&D that I've read through, I find the Basic/Expert game a little better fleshed out and more to my taste. Don't know anything about the other systems.
