    Gear for a Cohort/Mount

Actually, decided that it wasn't fair that a typical humanoid cohort would have elite-level stats, so used the +4, +4, +2, +2, +0, -2 rules, bumping the Dex and Con up with the +4s (base critter is dex-based, and again with the survivability), +2s to Str and Wis, +0 to Int, and -2 to Cha...

    Gear for a Cohort/Mount

The gnome fighter in one of my campaigns is taking Leadership as we reallocate for 3.5. She'll be using the feat to pick up a special mount: a half dragon (red) dire weasel. :) It's advanced to a 4 HD critter, so it comes with a 7th-level NPC's gear, worth 7,200gp. I'm willing to put it...

D&D 3.x [3.5] Ring of Feather Fall (Brain-Bleeder from my Players)

New amusement for festivals! Something between sky-diving and bungee-jumping. :) High-level wiz/sorc hands out rings of feather falling to all the kids, then teleports them a couple-thousand feet into the air. <g>

D&D 3.x [3.5] Ring of Feather Fall (Brain-Bleeder from my Players)

If you wanted to add the extra complication and be a "jerk DM", you could probably rule that a character still takes 1d6 damage for each 10 feet fell while not under the ring's effect. :) It all depends on how you want to interpret: "However, when the spell duration expires, a normal rate of...

How wide is a "line", i.e. Lightning Bolt?

Yes, they're all bounded. :) A non-bounded region has no shape. Whether they overlap is philosophically subjective, I suppose, but if you're of the opinion that they do overlap, it's only by an infintely small amount: the width of a geometric line. A geometric line is 1 point "wide" and...

How wide is a "line", i.e. Lightning Bolt?

Had to go to work and couldn't continue... :) Anyway, so a point at an intersection *must* belong in one or more of the squares bounded by the lines defining that point. In geometry, which we really don't have any choice but to use, the point actually belongs to *all* of the squares. When...

How wide is a "line", i.e. Lightning Bolt?

In geometry, a point is infinitely small, therefore it takes up no space. The point defined by an intersection of two lines (and for that matter, the lines themselves), act only as a reference for seperating two areas, but they do *not* fall outside those areas. By extension, the point defined...

How wide is a "line", i.e. Lightning Bolt?

A photon emanating from a point in space does not go through that point, even though it started its journey there. Anyway, here are some misc lightning bolt lines. The numbers pointing at the lines in the total number of squares that the lines go through.

    Logical thought

Yes. The problem stems from the fact that under the new space rules for creatures, Small and Medium creatures both take up the same space, when all other creature spaces scale with size category. The new rules for weapon sizes were apparently supposed to parallel creature sizes, but they fail...

    Adamantine Abuse

3000gp doesn't necessarily reflect the raw cost of the material. It probably also reflects the other special materials need to craft the adamantine in the first place. In fact, that's probably the majority of the cost.

Ranged touch spells and holding the charge

Page 175 under Range is the definition of a range of Touch. You can hold the charge of a "touch spell" that has a range of Touch. Any spell that utilizes a ranged touch attack will not have a range of Touch.

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Charge Problems [restarted - got too far off-topic]

It's interesting to note that in the rules for step 2 of resolving an overrun it says: Considering that said rules were expanded by 3 times their original length, I'd be forced to think that the section in parentheses must have received some attention. Based on that, I'm ruling that...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Excel Based Sheet

Here. Not a lot of changes needed from the 3.0 sheets, actually. I haven't updated the profession-specific pages, but the rest should be good. File attached. Edit: Oh, it doesn't auto-calculate if that's what you were looking for. :(

    Dragons DR/magic=no Dragon DR

Course, the amount of adamanitine in question for the feat may need boosted to balance out costs. I didn't really work out the numbers there. :)

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Potion Identification

ID Potion = Spellcraft Spellcraft now allows potion identification. DC 25; takes 1 minute; no retry allowed. This opens up that ability to a much wider variety of person.

    D&D 3.x [3.5] lamest terminology change?

Spell Name Changes IMO, the lamest terminology changes they made from a general standpoint, was renaming tons of spells for no other purpose than to help organize the book better (not that I don't like having things better organized). Why do we now have greater invisibility? What was wrong...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Ring of Evasion

Didn't finish what I started. :) Because the ring treats you "as if" you had the class ability, all rules for the class ability still apply. Therefore the wearer of the ring cannot be wearing armor heavier than light to benefit from the ring.

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Ring of Evasion

Being on the guest list for a concert lets you into the concert the same "as if" you had bought a ticket. You never actually bought the ticket, but for all intents and purposes you have the same ability to get into the concert as a ticket purchaser. The wording for the ring works identically...
