D&D 4E noob 4E GM - module doesn't include all the maps. suggestions?

Not sure what you mean, since I've got a ton of 1e, 2e, and 3e adventures and the vast majority of them only come with maps inside the booklet, no poster maps.

D&D 4E Is it me, or are we in a 4e dry spell?

We've also gotten advance content, such as the Barbarian class before it was completed and released, as well, which is something Dragon has done forever (along with actual advertisements as well).

How far are they going with Essentials

Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Coming This Fall ...) They were pretty upfront about what comprised the Essentials line in total. People on here assumed because other books were planned for trade paperback format they were were immediately Essentials products.

Mearls' Legends and Lore: Miniatures Madness

If "Common Sense" were a Magic card, it would be a mythic rare.

Class Acts: Hierophant Druids and a surprise

Not unless they had made a separate article in Dungeon for it. I don't like DM content in a Player article, and vice versa. No point in having the Dungeon/Dragon division if it isn't going mean anything.

    Transmutation Abuse

But you don't get all the benefits that you seem to think you get. Using Slimy Transmutation on an Ogre Brute would get you the following benefits: The Brute would be a valid target for grab and bull rush attacks for all characters, since it is no longer Large sized (the power makes it Tiny)...

Community plays D&D on NBC last night

It's no more a dig at 4e than it is at OD&D, whose cover says that it is playable with pencil and paper and miniature figures. Plus, you can see they have a copy of Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdom between 3:00 and 3:30 on the table. And that question is the same question every single new...

    Which feats are "feat tax"?

You're citing Greg Bilsland's personal blog, in which he discusses what he does in his private game, and saying that the developers think there is a feat tax because of that, right? A few facts. 1. Greg Bilsland isn't a developer. Or a designer. He's an editor. He doesn't make design or...

    Important DDI downloads

Go into the issue archive and download every single back-issue of Dragon (364-394) and Dungeon (155-185). Those are the ones with compilation issues. January 2011 (and going forward) will not have compilations, so you'll have to grab the articles individually.

    Which feats are "feat tax"?

This. The math difference between players and monsters is handled during play with tactics, such as combat advantage, power bonuses, bonuses from other players (leaders in particular), and situational bonuses (certain feats/class features, charging, etc). The question in the title is "Which...

No Ravenloft anytime soon (if ever?) No problem!

My 3.0 versions fell apart and I had to get the 3.5 versions instead, but I wasn't overly impressed with most of the game design in either version. I'd also recommend Van Richten's Guides for 3e (Walking Dead, Shadow Fey, and Mists) in combination with the 2e VR Guides.

Loss of Ki - More Harm Than Good?

I find the distinction to be meaningless, just like Wizards did when they axed Ki. I also find your distinction to be inconsistent, as you cite Shugenja as a Ki class when its entire premise is dealing with elemental spirits that are certainly not internal to the caster, which is a dead ringer...

D&D 4E Book of Vile Darkness: What do you want in it?

Are you talking about this novel? Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Product (Sandstorm)

D&D 4E Book of Vile Darkness: What do you want in it?

The Book of Nod (and the later Erciyes Fragment) are the only V:tM books I own anymore. I'd love to see something like that for the BoVD, and maybe even a Lament for Lost Tharizdun or something like that.
  15. The Little Raven

No Ravenloft anytime soon (if ever?) No problem!

I recommend stuff from the 3e line, since it's the most like 4e and would easier to find and convert. Gazetteers 1-5. These are gold for 3e Ravenloft. They give you an updated sense of what is going on in the Core, and are presented in an in-setting method, rather than omniscient narration...

D&D 4E Book of Vile Darkness: What do you want in it?

Ari Marmell, Brian R. James, and John Rodgers would be top choices for me.

D&D 4E Book of Vile Darkness: What do you want in it?

An author who can tackle the subject in a far more mature manner than Monte Cook is all I ask.

Loss of Ki - More Harm Than Good?

Being empowered by your own mind is not external. Exactly the opposite, in fact.

D&D 4E What should the next new official campaign setting for 4e be like?

I'd love a "storybook" setting like those movies present. Something like that would fit well with WotC's nounverb and titles-as-names naming schemes in recent years.
