    New DM's Kit? Anybody?

There are no monster, NPC, or trap creation rules in the new DM's Kit. I am VERY disappointed in Wizards. More than half the book appears to be identical to content in the RC, and key things (like the creation rules, non-random treasure, etc) are missing.

Ranger (Hunter) is a Martial and Primal Controller

The original classes will not be changed.

    Magic Missile while blinded

One thing you forgot, DracoSuave, is that you can actively perceive something on your turn. This is a Perception roll against the creature's last Stealth check (presumably, the one that beat your Passive Perception to become hidden from you).

    Slayer seems... meh.

That doesn't make them inaccessible if you have the books or CB.

    Essentials characters

Epic Warpriest is NOT an Epic Destiny. It's simply the epic-level progression of the base Warpriest class. Otherwise, this is correct.

    [DRA] Sneaky Staff

You'd have to take another feat (Staff Fighting) for this to be the case.

Against the Cult of the Reptile Gods -- FREE?

Don't get your hopes up. The Alumni articles have always been history articles about a particular element (the knight, Dark Sun, etc) and found in Dragon (not Dungeon). The likelihood of the Alumni article having a 4e conversion is pretty slim.

    Why Use Dungeon Tiles?

Icosahedrophilia » Laying (terrain) tiles: storage solutions This is the storage solution I use (along with the DM's kit idea). It works great. I plan my encounters in advance, and I use poster tack to attach them to a piece of black poster board. This saves time and keeps them in place. When...

What does a slayer fighter lose in the trade-off?

But it's not using a Slayer's primary and secondary ability scores, and Melee Training (Cha or Con) will just reduce the Slayer's damage. Heck, even the Melee Training (Dex) will cause him to do so. Remember that Howling Strike and Knockdown Assault can be used in place of a an MBA, but are...

What does a slayer fighter lose in the trade-off?

I assume you're talking about Boundless Endurance, the Level 2 Fighter Utility... which the Slayer has access to, since he gains Level 2 Fighter Utility powers.

DDI: Wouldn't it make sense to bring back the Dungeon Tiles Mapper?

I haven't been keeping up with the news, but I think you are right. Masterplan is quite popular and I liked PyMapper better than the internal one for Masterplan the last time I used it, so having a guy focused on just making a good mapper that could integrate would really benefit both sides.

DDI: Wouldn't it make sense to bring back the Dungeon Tiles Mapper?

dungeon_tiles : D&D Dungeon Tile Maps (WotC) Check that out. It was a group that started out by providing continued support for Jai's Dungeon Tile Mapper (the one on the Wizards' site). It grew into developing its own DT mapper (Pymapper) and offers all kinds of tiles.

    New Essentials Builds!

A simple one that doesn't require reading through tons of options to build? The PHB1 Fighter at 1st level has 16 at-will attack powers, 17 encounter powers, and 16 daily powers. That's nearly 50 powers for the player to look through to decide which ones fit her character. And then there's...

Rules Missing from the Rules Compendium

And if they want to get into the game enough to get most of the options, they'll learn all about the previous books and DDI and all that. We may see an Essentials familiar and whatnot, but I sincerely doubt it. And I can't shake the feeling that people are jumping to conclusions without actual...

Rules Missing from the Rules Compendium

It's under the movement rules. You can travel for 10 hours without issue, but after that, you need Endurance checks to keep marching. We've got keywords that, as far as we know, are not going to be in the Essentials line (Full Discipline, Beast, Rage, etc). I just think they prioritized what...

    D&D 4E WotC's 4E Setting approach - was it a mistake?

Ryan Dancey looked at the books and the inventory and he flat out said that supporting a dozen plus settings helped put TSR in their grave. Yeah, Buck Rogers, Dragon Dice, and buying a needlepoint company certainly helped with that death march, but he also explicitly called out the settings (and...

Rules Missing from the Rules Compendium

The Rules Compendium has every keyword to date, except for the new Essentials mage ones (Evocation, etc). The big oversights I see are... ...lack of vehicle rules. ...lack of weapon properties like stout, brutal, and defensive. ...lack of ritual rules.
