In that case, try Pinnacle. It's a decent video editing suite that runs for under $100. My dad uses it for editing movies he records on his camcorder, and he also uses it to burn them to DVD.

Good video editing software is expensive, and there's also the fact that having a fast computer with a lot of memory and a good video card is a must if you're going to do much video editing (unless you want to make low-res video). I don't know how much luck you're going to have finding good...

As usual, I'm playing World of Warcraft. I've been playing this game for over a year and it still entertains me enough that I can spend several hours playing it in a single day. This is probably the first game I've ever played that has accomplished that feat. :)
