    Ptolus - Six Days Early!

My Ptolus just arrived and OH MY GOD! WOW! This book is so awesome! It has a dragonhide cover. Well maybe they are city street cobblestones on reflection. But you can feel the scales/stones. The art is beautiful. Turn to any random page and there are 2-4 little pictures, maps, diagrams...

How do you travel with your minis?

If you are talking plastic minis, I transport them in gallon-size ziplock bags. I also use plastic peanut jars. Just toss them into my backpack or a shopping bag and go. They are not fragile at all. If you are talking metal minis, I use fishing tackle boxes. Pack each little separate...

Storing D&D Minis when not in use

Plastic Shoe Boxes I have tried tackle boxes and special mini holders and coffee cans. After much experimentation, I have found that the ideal container for plastic minis are transparent plastic shoe boxes. These are see-through, rectangular, tuperware-style containers that you can get from...

    Ptolus - Six Days Early!

I also just got my players guides. I am so stoked. My players have also been perusing my guides and are already asking me to start a new campaign there. My anticipation is building...

    Name for Pegasus

My paladin's celestial hippogriff is named Featherhoof. I also like Zephyr, Breath of Shaundakul, Fleetwing, Skymane, Ol' Paint, Socks, Whirlwind, Thunderbolt, Akadi's Wind, Cloudtail, Silver, Wingy, Swiftwind, Windswift, Comet, Wildfire, Firewild, Lightning, Trigger, Surefoot, Skyfoal, Misty...

Oh No! Sharpie on the Battlemap!

Denatured alcohol works super well for removing sharpie marks. It may just take out any red marker stains too. The testing part is a wise idea. You want to first make sure its not going to remove your gridlines as well.

    Tiles? Terrain? Battlemats?

I just use sheets of paper. I have a ton of skeleton key games dungeon rooms printed out on paper, I just print them, cut them out, set them down room, by room as needed. They are totally reusable. I take a lot of the maps from Dungeon magazine, scale them up to 1" = 5' and then print out...

So, how are the War of the Dragon Queen minis?

I just bought my first two cases yesterday, and the exact same thing happened to me! Two cases, and the huges were exact dupes of each other! I got two eldritch giants, two mamoth riders, two purple worms, two giant spiders, two mountain trolls, and two fire elementals! Most of the rares were...

Counter Collection Digital - Making Counters

By the way, I have Fiery Dragon's digital counter collection, and I love it. I just use MSWord. Just paste the counter into a word document and bingo you have tokens. I make a whole sheet of them for specific adventures. If they need to be resized, just right click on the picture (in Word)...

Counter Collection Digital - Making Counters

Use Clear Packing Tape For Easy Lamination Clear packing tape makes a great laminate for counters. It does not peal off. It gives even regular paper a nice thickness, especially if you put it on both sides of the counter before you cut it out.

Nice side effect of Wolfgang Bauer's Open Design project

Cool, Steam & Brass was my second choice too. Flying Fortress was my first. I still would have liked to have seen a cutaway map of such a thing. Actually, I was intrigued by the Lost City as well. All his concept outlines rocked. I would have been happy with any of them.

    Magic Item Lists...

Index cards Remember that old Deal-A-Meal commercial? I have adopted the concept for magic items. They get a number of cards per level, and then they are done. Okay, for each character in my game I check that chart in the DMG guide of Wealth per Level and then I make a list of what cool...

Nice side effect of Wolfgang Bauer's Open Design project

Yaaaay! :D This reminds me of the "Storytellers Bowl" which is how storytellers made a living in olden days. They would pass a bowl, and once it was filled up, the storyteller would begin. Or maybe he would tell the begining to the crowd but refrain from telling the ending until the bowl...

Nice side effect of Wolfgang Bauer's Open Design project

Last day to sign up is July 4th! Ever wish you were in Renaissance Italy and had the ducats to be a patron of the arts? You could have paid the likes of Michael Angelo and Leonardo DaVinci to paint your portrait or design you a flying machine or maybe paint your face onto one of the figures in...

Best Product You Got Because of ENWorld

Probably Beast Builder. Or magical Medieval Society. Really fantastic books. Also, I was truly pleased with the 3.5 Power Gamers Guide To Warriors, and Wizards. Both books turned out to be a lot better than I ever expected. The analysis was so good, it has really helped me to design better...

Nice side effect of Wolfgang Bauer's Open Design project

I just signed up as a patron. And a member. (I didn't realize there were various levels at first) I am very proud to be a part of this. I am really looking forward to see how this works out. So, he probably needs just about 4 more patrons and then he is good to go, right? I am stoked!

[Hordes of the Abyss] Using, rather than changing

Just slap on some class levels! I kind of like your idea. Although, I also like the sense of history and textured story that demon princes with detailed backgrounds impart to the game. Then again, I really have no issue with demon lords being physically weak, or at least on par with their...

You are in charge of what WOTC puts out for DnD.

A Forgotten Realms Manual of the Planes - detailing all the planes and encounters of the Great Tree Cosmology. Swampy Kingdoms - detailing the Batrachi creator race, their descendents, ruins, magic, history and other lore. What Serpent Kingdoms did for the Scaly folk. Sylvan Kingdoms...

    Every god in D&D...ever

Ah, cool. That explains it. I went to the gods list to research him and was surprised to find him not there. The gods list is sort of the master list of all canon gods, so that is usually the first place I go to begin research on obscure deities. Maybe someday they will flesh out Herne a...
