What videogames are you playing in 2025?

I finished Avowed last weekend. As a game on the arcade-y side of RPGs it was pretty good, if rather shallow. I never felt any great connection to my companions as I would in, say, Mass Effect or Baldur's Gate 3. It's also, similarly to Skyrim or Cyberpunk 2077, a game in which I found my...

Jurassic World Rebirth | Official Trailer - HD

That could just be Isla Sorna, the production facility island from JP II and III. It was sealed off from public access as a 'nature' reserve at the end of II, which tracks with it being off-limits in this movie.

Tipping in Great Britain (or more specifically, England).

Likewise when ordering online. JustEat adds a tip for the restaurant by default, and provides the option to tip your delivery driver.

Tipping in Great Britain (or more specifically, England).

Also many companies will use one of the various generic transactional portals that are available these days to plug into an existing website, and while they can be customised to fit, it'd be easy to leave a tipping option enabled even if it's not appropriate to your industry or location, either...

Tipping in Great Britain (or more specifically, England).

Yeah, never seen that in the UK outside of restaurant purchases or taxi fares, either online or in-person

    Semi-sensible thousand-year plans?

Done really well in an early episode of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, with a demon who was sealed away because he'd developed a new form of magical attack spell that nothing could block, and it was impossible to actually defeat him permanently.

Never had a problem with him, but I have occasionally struggled with other shows. Subtitles are your friend.

    Semi-sensible thousand-year plans?

Probably not "keep doing it for a few centuries" great, though. Even in a regular urban environment, over the course of a couple of hundred years the most likely cause of death would start to be random accident, let alone in an inherently high-risk setting.

    Semi-sensible thousand-year plans?

I dunno, you'd have to be pretty unhenged to try something like that.

    Rewatching Bond films

And also an exception to the whole "easily-escapable deathtrap" cliche. Goldfinger doesn't leave Bond to die there, he sticks around, and Bond doesn't manage a gadget-assisted daring escape - instead, Goldfinger learns that he's under surveillance by the FBI and decides to keep Bond alive and on...

    Rewatching Bond films

It's a step beyond the Doctor Evil schtick - you put him in an escapable deathtrap, but don't even bother turning up in the first place.

    Semi-sensible thousand-year plans?

The water from the Decanter gushes out as though from a high-pressure hose, but what if it's sunk so deep that the external water pressure is even greater? Would that effectively stopper the bottle?

D&D General Can a Wish spell move a moon to cause an eclipse?

Well, generally speaking, solar eclipses don't affect the whole world - that's why people fly thousands of miles to see one. But hey, fantasy world, maybe these ones do.

D&D General Can a Wish spell move a moon to cause an eclipse?

They get targeted by an alliance of lycanthropes, because the moon moving around is throwing off their cycles.

D&D General Can a Wish spell move a moon to cause an eclipse?

Or it never ends for the caster. No matter where they go the moon follows, casting the region around them into shadow.
