Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

They really lucked out in getting a couple of child actors who could grow so well with the show. And then they gave them good material to work with.

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

DS9's pilot episode is perhaps the best of any Trek series. It sets out the show's ultimate themes better than most of the rest of the first two seasons.

Who’s your vote for the next James Bond?

Yeah, that's why almost all the Mission: Impossible movies have rogue secret agents as their baddies. Which was cool when Bond did it in Goldeneye, but by this point in the MI series it feels like the world would have far fewer existential threats if the various intelligence agencies had called...

D&D General The D&D Memes Thread

To some extent. Frieren learns that while nature subtracts, it's possible to add too.

Who’s your vote for the next James Bond?

That depends upon how straight you play the organisation. The one distinctive feature shared by all 00 agents is that they have a licence to kill (and, apparently, that they need to have achieved two confirmed kills in order to qualify which, well, let's not examine that too closely). If they...

Who’s your vote for the next James Bond?

You even have a simple system for sequels. Start at 001, work through in sequence, and see whether you've got a decent concept for the main man by the time you hit 7.

Appendix J: Anime, Manga, & JRPGs

Shangri-La Frontier has been a real joy over the last season-and-a-half. More about making a great MMORPG experience than a tabletop one, but it's got some great inspiration for memorable NPCs and quest structure, as well as accommodating creative solutions.

Who’s your vote for the next James Bond?

Yeah, by about 20 minutes. By the time we're past the intro and into the main plot he's still a newly-minted 00 agent.

With Felicity Leiter as his / her contact in MI6?

Unearthed Arcana Kiss of Mephistopheles: Unbalancing?

Yeah, but three out of five of those are true if you're just casting fireball and not getting to hit someone with eldritch blast the same turn.

    Triple Feature (+)

Cornetto trilogy, since they're not actually sequels. I might sub out either Paul or Scott Pilgrim for The World's End as it's my least favourite of the three, but Shaun of the Dead is a classic romzomcom, and Hot Fuzz is a cinematic masterpiece.

    Cast Karen Gillan. Jane Pond!

    Second person plural pronoun

For smaller groups, one option is to get numerical. "Hi there, you three are looking well."

    General star wars talk/discussion/complaining

If you consider the Old Republic games canonical, the Jedi were already pretty integrated with the Republic back then. To find an independent Order, you'd probably have to go back to practically before the Republic existed.

    General star wars talk/discussion/complaining

Their main mistake was allowing themselves to become, in practical terms, an instrument of the state. As an independent organisation they could have responded with agility to threats, but they let themselves become bound up in the same top-heavy bureaucracy that doomed the Republic, which had...
