    Lorraine Williams did... what?

It is? He borrowed heavily on serial films, of which both Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers were first adapted to motion picture, alongside western serials like Cisco Kid.

    Lorraine Williams did... what?

As a proud owner of XXVc RPG, I think it could have been successful. I just didn't like the way it was marketed. BTW, besides the TSR version, were there any previous Buck Rogers licensed RPG?

    Lorraine Williams did... what?

Perhaps, but was he cocky and greedy to have sold the Hobbit and LOTR film rights to Saul Zentz (of Tolkien Enterprise), believing it was "unfilmable" or did he thought it was ... until he have seen the Rankin-Bass animated version? EDIT: a tax debt? How'd he got into a tax debt when he's...

Buck Rogers (Forked Thread: Lorraine Williams did... what?)

Makes you wonder if Lorraine Williams actually have greater influence in the Dille Estate with regards to the use of the IP.

    Lorraine Williams did... what?

Despite the Maiden of Pain's strong [familial] link to Buck Rogers, I don't despise the IP. I just despise the way it was handled, or rather despise the person currently controlling it. It's the same sentiment I have of Christopher Tolkiens of Tolkien Estate, who controls all of the other JRR...

STAR TREK by JJ Abrams - new photos

Meh. He wasn't just an action director at first. After all, he did Felicity. And despite my Pure Hate of Tom Cruise, Abrams did make a better Mission Impossible 3 after the second film flop. In many works I have seen, he put more intelligence into one project than Berman & Braga did with all...

    Live-action mech movies

Considering you listed Robot Jox, I would add to that the American-produced Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie. Do you want just the Hollywood/US/Western films, or do you also want imports like from Japan (the mecca of Mecha)?

STAR TREK by JJ Abrams - new photos

Last I checked, Manny was working on Keifer Sutherland's 24. His schedule may not allow him to take on such a feature film endeavor. That and JJ Abrams has more exposure as an A-list producer and director, as well as creator (Alias, Felicity, Lost, etc.).

So has the D20 STL been officially revoked?

Then the matter is closed. If someone wish to dispute the license expiration, just let WotC and their lawyers handle it. I could care less.

    Lorraine Williams did... what?

So would Dave Arneson, one of the CO-CREATORS of Dungeons & Dragons --with E. Gary Gygax -- in case someone would deliberately dismiss/neglect him.

STAR TREK by JJ Abrams - new photos

Actually, it's not that hard to visualize a society that gets along. Roddenberry have the same vision much earlier than when Martin Luther King, Jr. did when he wrote and oratized the famous "I Have a Dream" speech. And as for Kirk having sex with aliens, I don't think he was all too concerned...

STAR TREK by JJ Abrams - new photos

That's two names and yeah, their unholy alliance is what started the downfall of the franchise, but that doesn't mean it is dead.

STAR TREK by JJ Abrams - new photos

I dunno. Back in the mid-60's, the young Shat would be considered young in appearance to those audience. But to us later generations, we look at their appearance and style (with greased-up hair) as being more close to our fathers and grandfathers, hence old[er]. Let's not forget that this Abram...

So has the D20 STL been officially revoked?

So, what? You want WotC to invest time and money to correct this license technicality? How about we petition our lawmakers to correct all the obscure laws no longer enforce yet techically still valid. Move on. The d20STL is dead.

RPGs based off of Licensed Properties

Meh. I already turned my buckets-o-dice into pots for houseplants. The only d6-based rulesystem I will ever like and declare loud-n-proud is the ICON system from Last Unicorn Games (former publisher of Star Trek RPG post-FASA). Less roll-play (as in less dice to roll in my little...

Wow. That doesn't sound good. Star Trek tends to be more cerebral than Star Wars. To be anything less is ... Star Wars. :p

RPGs based off of Licensed Properties

In general, good for player-fans, restricting for licensees. As someone already stated earlier, there are small percentage of roleplayers in the global gaming community, and even smaller percentage of that group are fans of certain IP franchise that are actually playing some form of RPG based...
