    D&D 5E (2014) The classes of 5e (now with 90% less speculation)

I don't see how that relates to Lawfulness. Self-discipline doesn't, for instance, negate neutrality. Alignment is philosophy. Adherence to laws or principles, as well as motivations. That should not be attached to class features. That depends on how you define/describe rage. Also, just...

Dungeon Survival Guide - PLUS KOBOLD PCS

    1) They're little lizardpeople. So like lizardfolk, but small. 2) They are the quintessential "underdog" race. Everyone views them as not legitimate threats, they get pushed around/enslaved/etc by bigger races, they are treated as adventurer fodder. 3) Cunning. Traps, clever strategies...

    D&D 5E (2014) The classes of 5e (now with 90% less speculation)

I hate alignment restrictions, period. I was happy when 4e removed alignment from any sort of mechanic. RP penalties do not make good balancing factors vs. mechanics, and should depend on the campaign. The biggest offenders of alignment restrictions for me were the Bard, Paladin, Monk and...

    D&D 5E (2014) The classes of 5e (now with 90% less speculation)

Ohgeeze, alignment restriction classes. Please no. Personally I think it'd be neat if the Assassin became the default Mage/Thief class. Although from what I understand they're a combat-focused mage/thief.

Dungeon Survival Guide - PLUS KOBOLD PCS

From the D&D Seminar: KOBOLDS! :D :D :D :D :D :D Also goblins for those that like them. Wonder if we'll finally see Hobgobs and bugbears.

What are you working on? (Playing, GMing, desigining, etc)

Oh. I forgot somethings I'm not doing right now but plan to soon: Design a 5 session adventure/Mini-campaign involving going into the Shadowfell to rescue a high priority soul and bring it back. Write an excel sheet that provides the stats for every role at every level.

    D&D 4E 4e's Equivalent to Pathfinder

I think it depends on 5e and how 4e folks respond to the ruleset.

What are you working on? (Playing, GMing, desigining, etc)

Playing - 1st level character (need to make them for the game tomorrow). Thing is, I don't know if I'll be able to keep playing because... DMing - Running 1 (possibly 2) game(s) for some 10-15 year olds next Sunday.

Yes, but from what I understand based on many complaints, some DMs feel like arses if they ban something out of the PHB. Therefore, the PHB should lack anything they have to ban. It's easier to ignore options you don't like when they're in a separate book you simply don't have to own/allow...

    D&D 5E (2014) The classes of 5e (now with 90% less speculation)

For those who think that is simply Too Many Classes: 3e had 11 classes in the PHB. Do you feel that was too many?

Oh man. I can't wait to hear the news on that! I'm very curious what Modular thingies come out first. The part where it welcomes people who like things they don't, with things they don't like. Basically "I don't want that in my core book". Because if it's in the core book, that means they Have...

    It's not just your father's D&D

As the saying goes, WotC could sell a box of money and folks would complain about how it's folded.

What does that even MEAN? Dropping the paladin with 3 arrows, does this mean HP is low, arrows are deadly, or paladins are just cursed? Also is "challenging" a mechanic here or just RP? Hold Person. Not really happy about that at all. Also we see guys killing ogres and fighting minotaurs and...

    What's an "Aragorn Style" ranger?

Well in all honesty I get inspiration for my D&D from everything I see. Or rather, I'm not afraid to pull tropes or plots or ideas from anywhere. But part of the reason I'm reading REH and Leiber is because I'm writing a novel with strong S&S elements, so I want to go to the source to get a...

    What's an "Aragorn Style" ranger?

 :p I own the Hobbit (and do plan to get around to it). But my issue with Tolkien is 1) his habit of going completely offroad to wax on about leaf structures or some other unrelated tangent for multiple pages. 2) All that damn singing. Yes, he was trying to recreate...

    What's an "Aragorn Style" ranger?

Then what's all this talk of druidic magic? The 'they cast druid/arcane' spells in 1e?

    What's an "Aragorn Style" ranger?

Sorry guys, I'm just not interested in reading Tolkien, regardless of how important LotR is for you. :) Although I have been looking into Swords & Devilry, and the various Conan stories. No, I've seen that about three times.

    Do you use Random Tables?

At my table I prefer to burn simulationism at the stake, so that's ok. :)

But I'm talking about 5e. :) If 5e is removing the God emphasis from the cleric, modeling them after heavy-armored warriors with heals (where they originated), then they are creating a watered down Paladin. Why be redundant?
