D&D 5E (2014) Why is animate dead considered inherently evil?

I think it has everything to do with expectations. Players expect zombies to eat their Characters' brains. If Players Characters' go to a cemetery at night and encounter some zombies having a bake sale for charity, then one of two things is going to happen: A) The Players won't bat an eye...

D&D General Tips for Using Paper Character Sheets

In the Features and Traits box, I draw a series of bubbles next to per/long rest and per/short rest powers so I can check them off as I use them. I use squares for long rest powers and circles for short rest powers. As well as a page number, I write either bonus, reaction, or no action in...

D&D 5E (2014) Players Only: How Often Should Your Character Be Able to "Go Nova"?

Nobody has yet voted for once per level or once per round, but one of us voted for no restrictions, "Any time I want."

D&D 5E (2014) Descent Into The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth Is The First Of Several Single Session D&D Events

Cool, certainly this will tie into a certain someone from a certain adventure path and a certain supplement and a certain spell. Hmmmmm? Did I give away too much?

D&D General US Postal Service Releases D&D Stamps

Hmm, never thought of it before but I can see now how that might look, um...weird, to a foreigner. It used to be that forever stamps were more expensive than standard stamps but they were equal to a standard postage stamp no matter what the price was, thus forever. Eventually we did away with...

How long are your gaming sessions?

Not long enough godammit! 2.5 hours every two weeks if we're lucky! I am very frustrated by it. 4 to 5 hours every two weeks is where I want to be.

D&D 5E (2024) Gold & Other Treasure (Can we get off the treadmill?)

Gosh, as a kid I remember looking at the red box cover art by Larry Elmore and thinking, "That's alot* (sic) of gold, probably all of the gold in the world." And, then it happened again in the new millennium with The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies. I've had a couple of scenes like this...

D&D General How Do You "Roll Up" Ability Scores?

I bet you'd roll your hit points at my table. I again tempt my players with a choice: They can take the average or they can roll; if they roll they get +2 hit extra hit points!

D&D General How Do You "Roll Up" Ability Scores?

You are making a new PC for a D&D game. How do you generate ability scores for the character?---I use the Advanced Dice Point System wherein I have 3 points I can distribute among my ability scores. After I distribute the points I roll the scores in order but for scores that I gave 1 point I...

    D&D 5E (2014) Drow "Sunlight Sensitivity" workarounds?

That's what I do with my duergar character. It's a lot of fun too. It adds a new layer tactics to encounters, and it really plays up on the character's uniqueness*. * " "

D&D 5E (2014) Best one shot for 3-4th level characters, with players who really enjoy combat

The Crimson Oubliette. This is a unique dungeon that really is nothing but combat. You'll find it in the 3rd(?) issue of Kobold Press Warlock magazine. This is a giant pit full of acidic slime intent on eating you. However, the slime is averse to fire, so it will pull back from a torch twenty...

D&D General Should NPCs be built using the same rules as PCs?

Wizards of the Coast, if you're watching this thread, please don't make me do this again. I hear the guy who made stat blocks for the Third Edition of Deities and Demigods went bonkers.

Impressive. I'll have to give Bing a shot.

    D&D General DALL·E 3 does amazing D&D art

I'm only familiar with Stable Diffusion. How many iterations did it take to developed those prompts? What did your first attempt look like? Did you feed previous iterations back into the generator?
