    Gone but not forgotten

It seems like we lost a lot of people important to the RPG industry in the last few years. Am I forgetting anyone? David C. Sutherland III - June 6, 2005 Keith Parkinson - October 26, 2005 Tim Hildebrandt - June 11, 2006 Tom Moldvay - March 9, 2007 Glen Angus - July 19, 2007 Gary Gygax - March...

Didn't realize there was one, already! :)

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D 5th edition feedback forum on Facebook

I have started a discussion group on Facebook, for those with an account. Just started it on Tuesday, and already we have over 100 members! Come join in the discussion, hoping to provide useful feedback to the designers working on the upcoming edition: Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition feedback...

    More on Demon Lords

Thanks, I think I found that one already - was a neat little nugget tucked away there. :)

    Ring of Gaxx

Where has the Ring of Gaxx appeared? I know it was in Eldritch Wizardry, the first edition DMG, the Book of Artifacts, and the Epic Level Handbook. Where else might it be found? I am aware that it was also in the Baldur's Gate II computer game.

    Acererak and Orcus

I was asking just of Acererak, but yeah I'm going to go further on Q-N and the others in the coming weeks. :)

    Acererak and Orcus

Ok, here is what I came up with. It's a bit on the longish side, so I may trim it to just the essentials that define the relationship between Orcus and Acererak (which is not much), and/or move a lot of it to Acererak's article. As is, it is longer than the descriptions than all the other...

    Acererak and Orcus

Awesome, thanks! The summary catches the most important parts, but I'll check the rest out; will probably have to get back to this later in the week (or next week), but now I know where to look.

    Acererak and Orcus

What do you know of my purposes? ;) Any idea which issue # we're talking about?

    Acererak and Orcus

I'm trying to find some details on the connection between Acererak and Orcus. I was thinking a good place to start would be "Return to the Tomb of Horrors" by Bruce Cordell, but I'm not sure where specifically to look (there are well over 100 pages after all). Do you know any other sources...

    More on Demon Lords

Thanks, I did mention their PoC appearance, but forgot to mention the fact that they had game stats (as opposed to just about all other Planescape-era Abyssal lords). Probably the fact that they were originally in Iuz the Evil was the only reason they had stats in Planescape - good catch...

    More on Demon Lords

Hah, interesting. :) Would you say my list is fairly complete, then? Am I missing anyone? Any significant appearances worth mentioning, or anything I got wrong?

    More on Demon Lords

If demon lords had a Golden Age in first edition, and went through something of a Middle Age in second edition, then third edition would be the Demonic Renaissance. Demon lords came back in a big way in the Book of Vile Darkness in 2002, which featured Demogorgon, Graz'zt, Juiblex, Orcus, and...

The resurrection problem. Case in point: Eberron

That didn't work in Princess and the Frog. ;)

    More on Demon Lords

In the latter days of first edition AD&D, TSR was taking a lot of heat from the "angry mothers" of the world, so one of the things they did to lighten up their image was to dump things like demons from the game entirely. However, players demanded the return of such elements to the game, so TSR...

    More on Demon Lords

Maybe? I don't think so, but it's possible - I'd have to check that book. Not at this time, no. I've got enough of them to work with already, without throwing in a whole other cosmology. :)

    More on Demon Lords

The Gygax era ended in the mid-1980s, bringing about in turn an end to what you might call the "Golden Age" of the demon lords. The main players had been set, and in the minds of most die-hards (including the designers of FC1), the ones considered most important didn't really change over the...

They actually are the same guy, but when he wants to be the devil he wears glasses - fools people all the time!
