How Pathfinder 2's Resonance Reduces Wand-Spamming; & Comparisons to 5E Discussed

This is still bizarre... so, if you wear 1 ring for half a day and then take it off, but don another, does that use another resonance point? What if the "power" of the ring was never put to use during that time? If it were a ring of frost resistance, but you didn't encounter cold? Also, at...

RPG Crowdfunding News 088: Rappan Athuk 5E, Element Class Cruisers Box Set, The Demonplague, Extinct

Already backed "Greenwood of the Fey Sovereign" You didn't mention the Trudvang kickstarter. I am seriously considering that one too: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1256540796/trudvang-chronicles-stormlands Eye of the Beholder, which I also backed, ends in 30 hours...

How Pathfinder 2's Resonance Reduces Wand-Spamming; & Comparisons to 5E Discussed

In what way do potions not make sense? In terms of resonance? Potions could be self limiting in the sense that you can only carry so many of them.

How Pathfinder 2's Resonance Reduces Wand-Spamming; & Comparisons to 5E Discussed

It is yet another thing to track. That is why I would prefer something like the idea of corruption from DCC... if you fail badly to use some device, then it has a negative consequence right then.

How Pathfinder 2's Resonance Reduces Wand-Spamming; & Comparisons to 5E Discussed

Maybe they should add a mechanic along the lines of corruption in DCC... if you had to make a roll to successfully use an item and when you fail badly enough, you have to make a roll on a corruption table to determine a negative consequence...

How Pathfinder 2's Resonance Reduces Wand-Spamming; & Comparisons to 5E Discussed

Resonance sounds a little kludgy... and seems to solve a problem I don't remember having in many years of gaming.

Pathfinder 2 Updates -- How Big Should The Bestiary Be? New Initiative System? ... And Other Stories

I would be concerned about a 600 page book. My PF1 core rulebook saw very little use, but the binding fell apart quickly. Have the hard cover books improved in quality... in this sense?

The Pathfinder 2 Barometer! Vote your initial hot take!

As others have mentioned, there is room for PF2 along side PF1 and 5e. There is a middle ground that has more crunch than 5e but is more streamlined than PF1. And, if they can manage to make this backward compatible with existing PF1 adventures, then there will be tons of content available...

The Pathfinder 2 Barometer! Vote your initial hot take!

That makes sense... this would have been a wildly successful kickstarter though.

    Pathfinder 2E At Gary Con

I read this somewhere, and it has stuck with me ever since... Make the little decisions with your head and the big decisions with your heart. So, there ya go.

    Pathfinder 2E At Gary Con

None of my D&D books, which go back to the early 80s for me, are falling apart. My Pathfinder Core Rulebook, which has seen very little use, on the other hand...

The Pathfinder 2 Barometer! Vote your initial hot take!

Paizo should have introduced this via a kickstarter as opposed to pre-order... that way they could capture the interest and build excitement. I don't know why, but I rarely pre-order anything, but I back a ton of kickstarters!

The Pathfinder 2 Barometer! Vote your initial hot take!

I am intrigued now... but we'll see if I am still intrigued in August? Why so much lead time on an announcement for play test rules? Trying to drum up interest in PaizoCon?

RPG Crowdfunding News 086: Strongholds & Streaming, Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master, The Pallid Ma

I have that one marked... will most likely back it. I backed the Trudvang RPG as well. Also backing the Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master... and am on the fence about backing Strongholds and Followers. Too many good kickstarters.

[DCC] Adventure: Greenwood of the Fey Sovereign

A DCC adventure kickstarter. Still 24 days to go, but already funded and hitting stretch goals. Artwork looks great too: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1230703246/dcc-rpg-compatible-adventure-greenwood-of-the-fey

Starfinder Want Starfinder on Fantasy Grounds? Now's the Time!

I don't get this comment. Have you used D&D Beyond? Navigating rules, spells, classes, feats, etc is quite easy in D&D Beyond. Beyond that, you can easily navigate the contents of all of the official content that is available on D&D Beyond. Try bookmarking, or having open for reference...

Starfinder Want Starfinder on Fantasy Grounds? Now's the Time!

It's not uncommon to use FG as a reference tool for running games at the table. All I am saying is that, as a reference tool, D&D Beyond is much more useful. As a virtual tabletop, FG obviously wins hands down... part of the reason I own/pay for both. My comment was that Paizo needs to...

Starfinder Want Starfinder on Fantasy Grounds? Now's the Time!

Why is it an odd thing to say? Quite a few people use FG at the table... which is what I do. I find D&D Beyond more useful. It is much easier to navigate and easier to open items in tabs for reference during the session. I have spent quite a bit on FG, but have only used it once for a...

Starfinder Want Starfinder on Fantasy Grounds? Now's the Time!

DnD Beyond doesn't require a subscription. I hate subscriptions too, but actually subscribed to DnD Beyond. Figured I would try it for a year (bought the 1 year sub). I don't have to continue the subscription and won't lose any of my content by doing that. I may lose characters, if I have...

Starfinder Want Starfinder on Fantasy Grounds? Now's the Time!

Paizo needs to develop their own version of DnD Beyond. I have an ultimate license to FG and have purchased the 5e bundle, in addition to other rulesets... but have been using the application less and less :( I tend to go through phases using certain applications though. So, we'll see.
