Maybe I have been playing D&D for too long to see a problem with HD. However, I was not a fan of healing surges and am not a fan of spending points to heal in 5e... but that is a different mechanic (which happens to be based on HD). But, I think those mechanics were done to speed up game play...

Princess Bride has actually held up pretty well. I doubt they could remake and do a better job. And, who could play Inigo Montoya (or any of the other characters) any better?

To tell you the truth.. I like the skills from 1e better. They are more intuitive for the most part. We have been playing 5e for a while and I still can't remember which skill basic checks should use.

Ooh... printable tokens might be nice. Only problem is, I already have a bunch of monster tokens and I never use them. Always too much of a pain to find the ones I need. I guess, if I could print them off right before a session, I might be more likely to use them. We usually resort to coins...

I picked up the 3 core books while they are on sale, but haven't subscribed yet. I too am pretty pleased with it so far. I hope they enhance the note taking features soon... 'cause I would definitely make use of that.
