    When PCs break the law

You say tomato, I say tomato. :) Just ask Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, Jamal Lewis or Rae Carruth about being heroes and getting away with "anything". Nevermind OJ Simpson from that list though - one or two always fall through the cracks. :) And even the OJ case demonstrates that you have to work...

    When PCs break the law

Lawful Good characters that repeatedly break the law and/or refuse to submit to the proper authorities should end up shifting alignment - voluntarily or not. The only exception I can think of is if the laws they're are breaking are unjust, but even then, they should be working towards changing...

    Talisan - Anyone got it?

I got it, and we played last Friday night - six of us. I don't know how anyone plays in 90 minutes. We played for 4 hours and called the game, with only one person making it even close to the center! We had two folks who'd played before and 4 newbs, so that could be part of it (about halfway...

What format do you prefer for the gaming material you use?

I buy a lot of digital content, but most of it is for cardstock terrain, where print-it-myself saves a lot of money and is a feature. I buy some other RPG material electronically, but I'm coming more and more to prefer print. Books and modules I definitely prefer in print - I almost never use...

    Is stealing PC's toys taboo?

Oh please. Sounds more like the character was mouthing off when he didn't have backup - even after the DM game him an out. Behave like that, and not getting whacked is like taking a dump on a tarrasque and expecting to walk away.

So what's the next book to be released in the "Complete" series?

I'm pretty sure WotC beat you to the punch on that book already ... a couple of times. ;)

    Is stealing PC's toys taboo?

These are my thoughts exactly. And if I read the OP right, the character was alone, reduced in capabilities and still talking trash? Clearly case #1 - he ought to consider himself lucky all he lost was his stuff. And on another note, what is it with this rash of "Can a DM do this?" posts? Its...

Other plastic minis compatible with D&D minis

FWIW, I had pretty good luck putting Clix minis in the freezer for a day or two before prying them off their bases. Then I used a sharp knife, a careful hand and some patience.

So what's the next book to be released in the "Complete" series?

    "Completely Done" - available soon.

    Attn: Gamers in Austin!

Well, I went to that store today, and couldn't find the magazines. Not a single one. I talked to an employee in the buying area who was singularly unhelpful. He said the stuff should be out there already, and if I couldn't find it, then someone must have bought it already (a possibility), but...

    Attn: Gamers in Austin!

I'll definitely check today. My daughter has a cheer thing up in Leander later today, so I'll swing by there on my way. Most all the 3E Dungeons, eh? Even though they're 3E, that would still be a great resource - I've considered them in PDF, but this might be way more cost effective.

    Attn: Gamers in Austin!

Man, I just had dinner at Kobe, right next to it. We literally just got home from there. Wish I'd known. :) I might have to check it out for Dungeon magazines tomorrow. How fast does stuff you sell go up for sale? Any idea?

Where will 3.5 Grognards Hang Out Come May 2008?

I haven't played 3x for years, and I still usually find this an interesting place.

    1Eish 3E modules

Quite right. Thanks for the clearing that up. :)

    1Eish 3E modules

I'll third the DCCs. I convert them to my C&C and Savage Worlds games. Great fun. One thing to note about many of the DCCs is that they have the more linear "get to boss to get the McGuffin, move to next challenge" mindset that I associate more with 3E, rather than the "open ended dungeon...

    Per-Encounter/Per-Day Design and Gameplay Restrictions

I started on the per-day side of this debate, but the more I think about it and think about how my favorite system (Savage Worlds) deals with it, the less I like (conceptually, at least) a strict per-day paradigm. I like the strategic implications of limited resources over a given period of time...

D&D 4E 4E WotC way of saying your fired?

Snipped from the excellent repost: Interesting how things change. Instead of not trusting the customer, I think there is a growing segment that doesn't trust WoTC.

    Wilderlands Roll Call!

I have the NG version (and Player's Guide) and various supplements from the original version. I run it using C&C.

    Minis

This may be the only we've ever agreed on, but I agree with ehren 100% on this. I've been buying from Auggies for 3 years now, I think it is (since Giants of Legend), and he's been consistently great. His prices are always nice and low, and he was one of the sellers that pushed the singles price...

    Great Wheel Questions

I've never had a lot of use for the Great Wheel, but its an interesting read. If you're looking for a single plane detailed, check out Necromancer's City of Brass boxed set. Its pretty well done.
