    Find the Anime Challenge

A lot of that Eberron art reminds me of Battle Chasers more than it does any anime I can think of.

    Monsters of the feywild.

Absolutely, and the Shadowfell as well. I like the idea of certain places and times when the walls between the worlds are weak, and one can slip sideways without realizing it (at first). Sometimes, these pockets are held up against the world by a powerful creature of spirit, and heroes are...

    The New Core Pantheon

I'd like to ape this sentiment to the letter.

    What happened to the news?

Betcha we're not getting tidbits at the same rate - Monday was bare, Tuesday gave us one - because they're handing over the finished (less playtesting changes) PHB on Friday, and this is 'crunch week' (so to speak - it's always crunch week at Design & Dev!)

    Monster Types

Or maybe it's not so bad if dragons, the iconic monster and the only ones who get a name credit, are a type unto themselves.

What new rules did you like?

My stingy buying habits show themselves; I only have direct experience with Divine Feats, more specifically Divine Might as possessed by the paladin in my .sig. 'Spend one of your 8 turn attempts to add +5 damage for the round' is the whole reason I didn't try to trade out Turn Undead for some...

Why are monkeys being given treasure?

Are you saying monkeys shouldn't be given treasure? I'm as entitled to a share of the loot as my more evolved cousins! Hell, the elf never evolved at all! I'm a couple million years up on him! 'Fashioned fully perfect' my bright red buttocks.

Got Me a New Set of Dice...

I maintain two dice bags; my overflow bag which contains extra d6's (for casters/rogues) and d10s (for most of the other games I play) and advises me that Jesus will only be taking half damage, and my handcrafted main bag in gold and purple which contains 20 sets of 7 dice each suitable for D&D...

D&D 4E Should the Flumph be included in the 4E Monster Manual?

Sweet holy Vecna no. Where is this hardware store? Mine charges 3gp a head for orcs.

    Untrained/trained Skills....Noooo!

Celebrim, I hope you'll forgive me for not finding the jumping of 5' pits, the climbing of knotted ropes, and not swimming (DCs start at 10) terribly high-fantasy heroic, and for thus looking forward to SAGA-style skills (should they appear in the + 1/2 level format).

    AD&D 2E Which 2e campaign setting should make a comeback in 4e?

Had to vote for Birthright, because I'd like to see this design team tackle managing a realm in a really detailed fashion. I was a fan of Mearls' work on similar topics in the Quintessential books. Plus the rest can mostly be done with fluff and some hacked naval/aerial combat rules, IMO.

The 4th edition class list so far

What he said. And as for Mr. Sims' point, I was firmly aware of it: I even said PHB I in my post. I know more classes are coming later, and using that as an excuse to produce the PHB lightest in classes since the game was published isn't necessarily a selling point. Even 2e had 9 if you count...

The 4th edition class list so far

I really like the idea of the barbarian as ranger talent tree; I never thought there was enough meat on it to be a full base class anyway. I also readily agree that 8 is far too few and 12 would be far superior, but I think to put 12 in the PHB I they'd need to fill the 3x4 grid, and martial...

What Supplement Monsters Deserve a Promotion to Core?

If one isn't looking to believe the worst - I'll even grant you I'm an optimist about the 4e team - it could also imply that the next question is "What else have you got?"

    D&D 4E Women in 4E

A bunch of that had nothing at all to do with what you quoted. Also, I certainly don't recall judging this particular trend or inclination one way or the other. I just thought some clarity was in order.

What Supplement Monsters Deserve a Promotion to Core?

You misread me, sir, though it's entirely my own fault for being pretty unclear about it all. Weird is great, but there comes a point in "technological background" that a monster doesn't feel "core" to me. They may be welcome in Eberron or a homebrew or something you're just using D&D rules for...

    D&D 4E Women in 4E

Discussions about this thread with my fiancee (none of the above) produced the same conclusion. I like to think that's a good sign I'm not just beating my chest here.

    Design work on paragon paths....

That seems a little tortured. My money's shifted to the levls 11-20 portion of the 4e prestige class equivalent.

What Supplement Monsters Deserve a Promotion to Core?

While I agree with Living Spells (possibly the most quintessential D&D monster since 2e), I'm afraid I cannot find the 'pseudo-medieval' in Brain In A Jar. It's a little too late 1800's for me.
