The EN World FREE Character Portrait Request Thread!

After seeing what a STELLAR job that was done for Woe (dunamin's character for L4W), I've decided throw my hat (er...character) in the ring. He's only first level, so he's not crazy-looking (yet!). Full profile is in the link to Lorik in my signature, but I'll sample the important bits. Age: 24...

    Adventure: Echoes of O

Raiyek charges at the Echo, slashing it with his sword. Marley's Echo looks caught off-guard by the attack, and as it jumps to dodge it accidentally leaps into the blade rather than away from it. Raiyek's blade strikes true, causing a familiar violent spasm from the creature. The Echo of Marley...

    Adventure: Echoes of O

Map This fight is cramped, so good luck. Brown squares are normal. Dark red squares are covered in pools of blood, both from the gnoll and from Fat Tom. Looks slippery. The chairs are where you sat and conversed with Marley the first time. They are fairly big, big enough that you can't move...

    Adventure: Echoes of O

Fat Tom leads the party through a myriad of alleyways until you reach the Marley's loft. Tom leads the way as you make your way up the stairs, and Tom opens the door, knocking as he enters. "Hey Marley, I brought them folks like you-" Tom's voice drops off as both he and you survey the...

Am I correct in assuming that you are going to follow Fat Tom back to Marley's flat?

Daunton's slums lay to the north, and I'm assuming that Stefan's is in The Commons, where it lies on the border between the seedier and unseedier parts of town. I'd prefer The Commons to be a bit farther north. But that's just nitpicking, nice work.

My adventure (which is drawing to a close, you guys are more than halfway through it) will serve solely as an adventure seed for future adventures. After Echoes of O clears up, they're all fair game. I'll be dropping in a few more as time goes by, and feel free to add your own.

I added some information to Daunton's page, some of it from my adventure, some of it not. It's all tied up in gangs, though. clicky clicky

Blinding Barrage: interpretation vs literal reading

There's a very easy way to solve this issue. Let's say a rogue attacks with by throwing a magic dagger at an enemy. The attack hits, and the dagger dissipates (dissolves into smoke, disintegrates, fades away, melts, what have you). It then simply "appears" in the rogue's hand. This solves many...

    Adventure: Echoes of O

While the tome does not give any specific rituals that can be performed with the aid of sanguiduum, it does several broad examples, including (but not limited to) long-term mind control, the binding / possession of various planar beings (demons, devils, etc), the creation of greater undead, and...

    Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

The tavern door opens, and in a drunken haze staggers in a young man with vaguely elvish features. A brown hoodless cloak wraps him, but astute observers notice that he is wearing a rather worn set of scale armor and carrying a long sword, which is currently strapped at his waist. He stumbles to...

    Adventure: Echoes of O

"Of course" says the warforged, who leaves the room only to return shortly carrying a full plate of food, drink, plates, etc. He places the tray down on a nearby table, and begins unloading food. "I never got a chance to apologize for my behavior at the tavern, miss. Rest assured that I was...

"You are all lucky that I picked this tome up some years ago. Had I not. your trail would likely have gone cold. I'll see what I can do about the fur, but in the mean time, please, make yourselves at home. Maitre'd will care to your every need." With that, Allip takes a small sample of the fur...

"Once the Echoes are eliminated, they stop spawning. Ripples cannot continue once they are interrupted. As for the fur, I'll see what I can do, but depending on how old it is there may not be much to glean. As for your payment...Borius is a stingy sort, even in his grief. Assuming you can bring...

    Adventure: Echoes of O

"This is far from an exact science, but people that have been saved from such rituals only ever spawned one (or in rare cases, two) Echoes. To have spawned six Echoes...and especially considering how long she has been missing? To find her alive would be unheard of, and would spurn a...

    Adventure: Echoes of O

The halfling shakes his head. "No, no, no. Not sangiduum. Sanguidoom. Sang-gwi-doom!" Allip is apparently a stickler for grammar. He sighs and continues to answer your questions. "It is the harvesting of sanguiduum that creates the Echoes, not the rituals that use it themselves. And there is...
