I used to have all action figures from the 80's cartoon. The new cartoon is but a shadow of the former series. Anyway, I still think a "defensive stance" should help you against melee attacks and not against sleep spells.

Shouldn't be +2 to Reflex or AC? I mean, you are in a defensive martial stance, and it won't help you against melee attacks but will help you against Sleep spells? :confused:

Exactly, and not because of the way he was standing.

But is the "+2 to saves" to the character's Defenses or only Saving throws? He-man clearly is getting a bonus to his Reflex.

Me too, can you give me an example of a character using a defensive martial stance to avoid magical effects? It would help a lot.

That's a big stretch. It's easier to say the stance is magical.

I'm also a great fan of Lodoss War, but I like it because it is D&D and not because it's anime. Being anime is the only flaw form that perfect cartoon.

I wonder how a defensive stance helps the Fighter(or warrior) against, let`s say, a Sleep spell? :confused:

Don't worry. That art is for that Pathfinder RPG thing. I'm not really into paizo, but I think, by the looks of the art they are using, they are trying to bring some Exalted players to their new game. WOTC would never allow such thing in real D&D products. We're safe.;)
