    The Children of Húrin

finished it ... was not bad. Very tragic in a shakespearian way. Read it while reading a Glen Cook book ... and the styles are completely different to each other. Was surprised to see how the elfs where kind of petty and naive at times.

    Siangham real!

Right! ... and from the looks of it, we know it's a feasible weapon ... just nothing historical yet

If I like D&D and LotR....

I'll second this one ... I just read Children of Hurin, off and on with Instrumentalities of the Night series by Glen Cook ... It was odd reading the two styles. Tolkien was more poetic and fairy tale like ... Elves and all, Cook wrote things more like a grim n gritty type ... everyone...

    Weapon Knacks

try and get a hold of the Black Company CS, they have a revamped MW section. Basically there's 6 lvls of MW and different types of bonuses you can get. it would be perfect for a low-magic setting

    Innocuous Magic Items

way back when in 1e days ... by bro (the DM) gave me a magic sword, it wasn't + anything but could hit any creature with "needed +X or better weapon" ... (well hit with an actual to hit roll)

    Feat per level

I played in a game with feat/2 lvls ... it was only a summer thing, so our DM kinda wanted us to move along a bit more. Didn't see a problem with it, especially b/c we weren't min/maxing but playing for fun and coolness

Stargate Atlantis 6.1.07 "Sunday" - SPOILERS!

can someone clue me in on happened with Rodney's ascension? I had it taped but in the process of moving I have lost it. last I saw was that he had the powers ... restructured the powergrid ... fried czech guy (zalinka?) by accident and knew he was going to die or ascend.

Tome of Horrors 3.5e, not bad

IIRC when Scott, Erica, Boz, et al started working on this ... that was the understanding. I still prefer the ToH version of many critters rather than WotC. Orogs, Ogrillan, and Half-ogres are very well done. The Dragonnel is perfect, and 1000% (one thousand!) better than the drivel that was...

Beginning the game with +1 HD of Expert

oooooh, ok ... i think gestalting with the expert would fine then. at most you'd get some hp, a better save, and a few more skill points ... at worst you'd get some skill points or 1st lvl save boost would a Ranger/expert do anything better? ... just checked, they'd all good saves to start

I don't have UA nor read up on gestalting (I know what it is) ... what would gestalting with expert look like?

Beginning the game with +1 HD of Expert

I'd go as far as to say that this virtuo-level won't counter any drawbacks from standard classes.

Beginning the game with +1 HD of Expert
