Is this the correct way that dragons "Alternate form"

agreed, an angel, great gold wyrm, some big bad demon/devil ... ought to be able to shape change or polymorph and still be pretty tough with out having to revert to its true form.

Is this the correct way that dragons "Alternate form"

official? nah, I'm good with house-rules ... I tend to make mine conservative or non-munchy.

DM Needs Help with Temple of Elemental Evil

you might want to consider having an 'Adventurer's Guild' or have the party's patrons prepare some other groups to 'assault' the temple as well ... We went through 3 full parties (#4 kinda petered out as we were all in the Army and training ended and we got sent to our various posts) and a good...

Is this the correct way that dragons "Alternate form"

My first reaction is to say I'd go with the 'Special' option on the Alternate form synergy and take the better of the two bonuses. My second reaction would be to gauge where the campaign/adventure is ... in an epic/20+ game I might allow it. Overall I'd simply want a polymorphed dragon (either...

All the different Dragon species ... of the same name

my vote goes chromatic, but overall it's just semantics. Before the summer of chaos I'd put grey dragons under the thumb of takhisis ... and then after the summer of chaos they don't exist anymore. (note, I wasn't a fan of 5th age or it's story ... in my world grey dragons are still around ...

All the different Dragon species ... of the same name

Grey Dragons my 2 stl pcs ... Grey dragons are mentioned as a sidebar for Frost dragons because, according to the text, all of the grey dragons became frost dragons. Otherwise I'd definitely throw them in as a sub-species of white dragons and therefore chromatic. That pesky greygem does as...

Is this the correct way that dragons "Alternate form"

well, Cleon ... I've searched my books and come up with two possibilities that I was reading. An extra alternate form feat (in a DragonLance book) which is pretty ho-hum ... unless you've want your chromatic dragon to assume a humanoid form. There was also a Draconic polymorph spell that gave...

Is this the correct way that dragons "Alternate form"

I totally forgot where I read it (online, DragonLance, some other dragon book ... draconomicon?) but there was a feat (or you could create one) where a shapechanged dragon was able to retain some of it's physical stats ... at least enough to be a humanoid with better physical stats.

    Pathfinder 1E Monster Advancement Advice

you could always apply the giant template as you did (or did you simply use the size increase chart?) instead of changing HD, add warrior class levels. you want a CR 7 Large Kobold? ... add 2 giant size templates and 6 levels of warrior. Seems easier than using the format presented in the PF...

to smite or not to smite

Double Post ... ewww I hope it washes off my paws!

to smite or not to smite

thanks both, smite is not in universal monster rules ... you'll find it under monster advancement with the celestial, fiendish, entropic and resolute simple templates.
  13. Wolf72

to smite or not to smite

This is directed towards pathfinder rules, but would probably be appropriate in any 3x rule set. If a creature has the smite ability it has + to attack (it's cha mod if positive) and a + to damage (based on HD) do levels count as hit dice for smite? a 4th level resolute (axiomatic) human...

    Another Flying Construct/Golem (PF rules)

60 ft, +60 hp ... Maybe I have something against 60?! ... or I just missed those. (fixing now) HP: personal preference I guess. Bite damage: it's not a primary combatant, so I went with the slightly less damaging bite.

    Flying Golems/Construct for your use!

slowly ... my motivation is lacking at the moment (been a long week). I wouldn't say a gnome invention is reliable yet ... I only have the concept down of what I want to do. Then I'll crack open my 1e DLA and my 3x Races of Ansalon and start gnomifying it.

    Flying Golems/Construct for your use!

no, no ... I'm sure a Tinker Gnome wearing a suit an 'Oversized Gnome Reboundable Exoskeleton' would do just fine.

    Flying Golems/Construct for your use!

Tinker Gnomes? ... build something to size? and they might actually want something to accommodate large creatures too

    Flying Golems/Construct for your use!

That's about as far as my creature design got too. Officially it should be Neutral, but I find Unaligned not distracting at all. It's one of those scenarios if you were to pick up some other companies rpg product and they didn't use the alignment system (or had a different kind altogether)...
