    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

CanadienneBacon Fantastic. I appreciate your efforts to balance Picayune by limiting his powers. I see you dropped the effigy's resistance to fire, added Sunlight Sensitivity, and limited vicious mockery to [CHA mod] uses per day. As long as you're happy with those limitations, they work for me...

Shayuri The Egyptian pantheon, eh? Looking forward to what you come up with. Especially if and how it interacts with Kelemvorite death rites.

Invisibility at-will is pretty potent, isn't it? All the more reason to take the kid gloves off. I am willing to run with it, though, and Picayune's g-g-g-ghostly powers, on the basis that these are the Outer Planes, and having powers that lead to solutions other than a head-on fight...

Robots in disguise? I approve, yeesss.

    [5e] Spell & Crossbones

Still hoping to see a brawl for the captaincy. His Lordship sounds like another good contender. Etienne the voyageur could probably turn his years trading beaver pelts toward keeping an eye on the ship's finances and powder supplies. A touch (a light touch) of naval discipline probably wouldn't...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

@goatunit What race were you thinking of for Eurid? Nothing says he can't be a tiefling himself. @Kiraya_TiDrekan Are you still going with druid for Nameless? Or is will its class be determined by who it ends up imprinting on? :) @CanadienneBacon Undead or elemental type-- either one is...

Same goes for me. :) The College of Jazz is a nice little vignette. CanadienneBacon Like Shayuri said, don't feel like you have to be 1st level for balance reasons. You should assign both Strength and Constitution. Unlike 3rd Ed, 5e undead often have fairly high Con scores to represent their...

    [5e] Spell & Crossbones

Peterka I think I missed the spoiler text last time I saw your post. Seems like this game is just attracting all us Canucks. :) This does seem like a character who'd benefit from at least a little multiclassing, which would feed even further into his well-travelled, bard-of-all-trades vibe. At...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

Two bards, and two very different bards, makes for an interesting party dynamic and I have no complaints. It gives them something in common, a reason to talk shop. And I did suggest the master/apprentice idea. This isn't quite what I was expecting, but all the more interesting for it, I'd say...

    [5e] Spell & Crossbones

These are great! Between the Sister, Gentleman Jim, and myself, we might have a later-level excuse to wind up in France, and that wouldn't be a bad thing at all, in my book. On the other hand, I like the energy that Kid brings. I was hoping someone would take that Fortune.

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

That's a little spooky...which is great. :D At your option, yes, you could take those as additional modron traits. I wanted to see if we'd need any special rules regarding armour construction. It's sounding like it might not be as drastic as I thought, especially if we're talking about a druid...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

Any of my suggested racial traits are open for discussion, if they don't fit your character concept or if you think they're over- or underpowered. @Kiraya_TiDrekan Some thoughts on rogue modrons. Logical. You have advantage on saving throws against illusions, and cannot be frightened except...

@ CanadienneBacon First post-law paycheque, that calls for some big-time congratulations. :D Very nice! And what better way to celebrate than with all the planes of existence at your very doorstep, says I. Also a happy anniversary to you both, Queenie and Fenris

As a ghost, I might allow you to simply cast etherealness on yourself at will, possibly subject to a Charisma or Constitution check of some sort, DC to be determined. It simply won't work on the Outer or Inner Planes, I think, which takes a lot of the bite out of it.

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

@CanadienneBacon Effigy is the better name, definitely. Picayune as a whole has a magical realism vibe that I'm really liking. 5e tends to be less crunchy than 3.x. In general, ability drain and level drain have been replaced with effects that sit on top of the base character. For example...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

Exactly. It'd be a shame to have a jazz musician *not* be a bard. A missed opportunity. Picayune is shaping up into a very interesting spin on the Dorothy archetype. You seem to know 3.x pretty well, CB-- how much do you know about petitioners? They're touched upon briefly in the 3e Manual of...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

If we're talking about a ghostly jazz musician, drifting across the planes? That is classy. I very much approve. So far 5e has no direct equivalent to level adjustment or ECL. I think that's for the best. A lot of those powers and abilities can be represented just as well through either class...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

Nothing too important, just some interesting mechanics and ideas that would work beyond that edition. Some good fluff and flavourful magical items. It was more that I was just curious. Pixies and satyrs were given playable races in that book, and since you and Queenie are playing a pixie and a...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

@goatunit Nice. Sorry if I came across as pushy before. I was probably playing things a little too close to the chest. I tend to do that. @Fenris Again with the bait and switch! Well, I'm going to put an army of zombie jellyfish in the game, and whether or not you're at the head of them or in...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Planescape- In Through the Out Door (Full)

I'm more worried that it'll be the portals your fellow adventurers are dragging you through, rather than the ones I'm pushing you through. At least, that'd be my hope. Edit: Alright, enough being evasive. Cards on the table, because it does seem like it could be important in this case. I wasn't...
