    Hit Points and D&D

I have played with the Wound/Vitality system in Star Wars, and it was very deadly indeed. There were multiple times in the four to five months of the campaign where one of the PCs was taken out at the start of the day's adventure by a mook with a lucky critical. ALways a risk in a game like...

Do you agree with WotC selling errata?

I would disagree if they were charging a few bucks for a one or two page PDF that was nothing but errata for a couple of books. I don't think that is what you are asking though. I don't see the Spell Compendium or the Rules Compendium or "updated reprints" or anything similar as "selling...

    Hit Points and D&D

But a blaster in Star Wars can do this damage and that used Wound Points. One hit can easily down a character in that system and that is one of the problems that is usually pointed out in discussions about it.

    Long campaigns

I'm a player in a game that just hit 21st level last week and started at 1st. Edit: Two characters made it from 1 to 20+. Mine has made 21st and I'm not sure if the other is 21st or still 20th.

The need for social skills in D&D

My impression (which may be incorrect - and correct me if I'm wrong, billd91) was that billd91 was saying the player determines that they will Bluff the guard by saying the PC is visiting royalty or that the player says the PC will Intimidate the captive by smashing a chair against the wall...

The need for social skills in D&D

Just to put in my 2cp here, I am one for rolling with modifiers. I am currently playing a Bard with a charisma score that is through the roof. I'm not sure anyone in real life has an equivalent score this high (he has a 26 CHA before any equipment modifiers or spells). I am certainly not THAT...

    I'm Back...Sorta

Welcome back! Hope you feel like yourself again very quickly. They exist. I don't know how, but since I live in Michigan I can say honestly say they still exist. (and not being a sports fan at all I wouldn't qualify as one of them)

How Important Is Rules Knowledge In Being A Good D&D DM?

One thing I'd like to bring up that I've only seen briefly alluded to: I think everyone will agree that knowing the rules is better than not knowing the rules. However, almost as important (in my opinion) is this: know what you know and know what you don't know. Let's say you have the PCs...

Which class is the most useless?

Agreed. Most are going for the Monk and Bard however I could also say that Paladin is the most useless depending on the DM because of his code or that the Wizard and/or Sorcerer qualifies for the title through Most Redundant.

Do created beings have nipples and navels?

Depends entirely on who the creator is what purpose the piece is created for.

    Evaluation of 3.5 Rule Changes.

Our group hasn't had any real problems - even with the Power Attack change. We house ruled a couple of the changes to keep them the old way but that was because we simply didn't like the changes instead of having problems with them. Now that I think about it - the only change we didn't adapt...

What would it take for you to be interested in a new (not reprint or rehash) setting?

A good ad campaign. One that lets me know it is there and why it is different from everything else. This will get me to buy the core book. I will point to Crothian's "well written and well supported" as what will keep me interested in a setting. Kind of like a TV show. Get me to sign up for...

Which Is The Stronger Character Class - Sorcerer or Wizard?

If Sorcerers got the bonus feats I think they would be balanced (or at least a lot better balanced). They wouldn't need to be the same set of feat choices to allow more of a difference flavor wise between the two classes (Heritage Feats or something similar instead of Item Creation Feats for...
