Can you name a good fantasy TTRPG that's not D&D?

Oh I do like 13th Age too, but I haven't run it in a while. Other good games to run like Blades in the Dark and Beyond the Fence, Below the Grave...

    Number of players

I've run a Feng Shui all-combat one-shot for 14 players set in a Hong Kong theme park attacked by demons (5 heroes show up and fight an encounter, another 5 heroes show up and fight a different encounter, another 4 heroes show up and fight a different encounter, everyone meets and teams up in a...

Describe your last rpg session in 5 words

One-shot at Malaysia's monthly online gaming meetup. 4 players: a fellow game designer, two local regulars and a student on break from her exams. 4 halflings took an elderly human scholar birdspotting in the Golden Fields Marsh. They encountered fire-casting Efaras Crows, a vicious Gowri Goose...

Can you name a good fantasy TTRPG that's not D&D?

Thr Amber system relies just too much on GM Fiat. I've run a good Throne War one-shot, and a satisfying short campaign as well, but it's a lot to throw onto a GM's shoulders.

Can you name a good fantasy TTRPG that's not D&D?

Romance of the Perilous Land, a traditional fantasy RPG set in a British folklore-inspired fantasy realm with its own Arthur, Mordred and Robin Hood. Lush art and a strong, consistent d20 system. I reviewed it here: http://roleoverplaydead.com/romance-perilous-land/ Pdf here...

RPG Crowdfunding News - The Price of Coal, Herbalist’s Primer, SLA Industries, and More

The Herbalist's Primer looks great - I have gotten the same creator's Freshwater Marsh pdf, and recommend it for anyone interested in marshy adventuring. :) Also, I'm pointing my West Virginian relatives at The Price of Coal - it looks like an interesting piece of history.

    Lancer RPG Suspends Kickstarter Fulfillment

Lore manuscripts for Harrison Armory, Karrakin Trade Baronies and Aun Ascendancy, and playtest manuscripts for Wallflower (pt 1 and 2) were also put up for free on their Discord since ages ago, long before the Wallflower pt 1 book came out. So Lancer GMs have got enough material to work with for...

Any Good Games Where Running Away Can Be A Victory?

Honey Heist, where the goal is to get away with the honey. Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space, where one of the most iconic kinds of adventure is to escape a sci-fi disaster/haunted location and get as many survivors out as possible! Blades in the Dark, where getting away with the crime...

TSR TSR3 Throws In Towel, Rebrands Wonderfilled

Frankly, the TSR Clone Saga rates probably 4th in my clone saga rankings, far below the Spider-Man Clone Saga, Reign of the Supermen, and whatever that nonsense with Palpatine was in the Dark Empire comic books and that Rise of Skywalker movie.

Which non-D&D fantasy RPG do you currently play?

Well, the Blades crew broke into the vault in the Iruvian embassy after a detour with the ghost of a ship captain that Scotch once executed. Waiting in the vault was an Iruvian fox demon who had a nice conversation with Zhao, the crew's leader and resident fox-person. It offered to hire the crew...

Which non-D&D fantasy RPG do you currently play?

My long-running Blades in the Dark game is just coming back from a catastrophic invasion of feral ghosts and Deathlands horrors after the lightning barriers protecting the Six Towers district collapsed. Our crew, the Nameless Vagabonds, an arcane group of Shadows, gathered allies from the...

How often do you enforce laws in your games?

I run Blades in the Dark, so the Bluecoats and the legal system are a constant threat. We've even had a situation where the players ran back-to-back heists of the same prison which was pretty audacious. The system uses Heat and Wanted Level to track how much the law is pursuing the PCs, and...

    Using Meals to Teach Geography

In a flash of perfect timing, GM Connie has just recently written up 3 Chinese dishes that could brighten up your fantasy taverns. The stir-fried egg and tomatoes are nice, and the duck dish is snazzy, but I am totally there for fantasy hot pot...
