    The price of a horse.

I am aware of what the Doomsday Census was. However, you incorrectly stated that the Shilling was a gold coin. My quote from Wikipedia stated that the shilling was a silver coin. To narrow it down to only the most relevant pieces of information: Edit: My apologies for the tone of this post...

    The price of a horse.

The problem with "Hollywood inaccuracy" is not that we don't know that movies are fake, but that when faced with the question of, then, what the facts are, the majority of the population is left with little idea of what the facts might be. Fortunately, the internet can be used as a vital source...

How many Forgotten Realms novels are there?

If we call this Brandegoris' Addition to Sturgeon's Revelation, we reach the conclusion that there is approximately 9x times more junk than we should really have. ;) However, amateur writers will not get better without feedback. For those who will not listen to feedback, the previous statement...

Don't Call It A Comeback: Mars Attacks And Discworld For GURPS 4E

I also would have trouble with using year 2000+ editions of Dungeons and Dragons for Discworld. :) GURPS is crunchy, not complex, and realistic, not toonish - In my experience. Something simple and toonish would seem to fit Discworld better; but if GURPS is generic enough to handle Discworld...

    The price of a horse.

Most sources of information on the medieval age are wrong, I am sorry to say. Sometimes grossly so. It is possible that it is Wikipedia that is wrong in this case, but as far as I know, external testing has validated Wikipedia's factual accuracy in the sciences.

Don't Call It A Comeback: Mars Attacks And Discworld For GURPS 4E

Thank you for the mini-reviews. It does sound more like something I would be interested in buying.

    The price of a horse.

For some things, I think there may have been fixed prices; although I have no actual data to back this up. It simply passes the "common sense" check; for example, given an inn, the proprietor would most likely not want to barter over every bowl of potato and onion soup. :) Of course, having no...

    The price of a horse.

In the d20 System era, *at least, the cost of "adventuring gear" is **inflated by about 20 times. Given that probably-viable divisor, a galley (large medieval warship) has a price of 1,500 "gold pieces". This is reasonably in line with a peacetime crown revenue of 30,000 gold pieces. As a side...

    The price of a horse.

Rather than a horse, it would be more likely they would own an *ox. Or, rather, as has been pointed out, that they would own some share or portion of said animal. A peasant's life has been unduly portrayed as endlessly depressing in fiction. The average peasant, presuming they **survived to...

Don't Call It A Comeback: Mars Attacks And Discworld For GURPS 4E

Yes; perhaps that is the problem. My brain has trouble reconciling the concepts of "crunch" and "Discworld".

How many Forgotten Realms novels are there?

Reprints and reissues are essentially the same story without a major rewrite, so I would personally only count anthologies in that list. I am not sure what factor would be used to account for the number of stories that are...Somewhat inconsistent with Forgotten Realms canon, or Dungeons and...

Don't Call It A Comeback: Mars Attacks And Discworld For GURPS 4E

I own GURPS, but do not have much experience with it. That being said, my mind has trouble grasping the idea of GURPS, which has over 600 pages of crunch in the two basic books, being used to play Discworld. While it is understood that most of the options are not suitable for most games, I would...

There is something I want to get off my chest, here and now. Something rather important, and, although I am not good with words, I shall try to explain today, as best I can, this thing, and how it impacts me: My pet rock is dead. I discovered this when I realized he hadn't eaten anything in...
