Take the template at 17? Then you already have the 9th level spells. Play Dread Necromancer instead, and become a Lich with Phylactery automagically at 20, no cost on phylactery. Play a Scarred Land Crypt Lord, they become Lich at level 10 of PrC for no LA. Lots of Options

No, its subject to the same "people moving on, not showing up, not being committed" issues as pbp, it just, as you say, flows more like a ftf session.

Under normal circumstances, I would agree with the half caster progression, for a wizard, for example, but with her class mix? It wont hurt anything adding full progression.

I am in the process of making a sweet swordsage/monk, and I must say, I'm loving it.

Crusaders and Warblades tank, Swordsages fill the heavy hitter role. They play much more like a wizard than like a fighter. But, you can build around concealment, boost dex/wis and try to tank, but lucky hits will paste you.

And if you do this one, you STILL must be a red dragon.

I def agree on the Hexblade. If you are allowed Blackguard, I definitely second taking both. Go Red Dragon for real scariness. Paladin of freedom, Tyranny, or whatnot can sub in for the blackguard, if you arent evil

I'd rule that the spell could use the solid diamond, turning it into dust itself, but I'm crazy like that. I'd also let the player just cross off 250gp and be done with it, too. Realism, Shmealism.

Shadow Blade feat + Martial Stance feat for Child of Shadow, and you get: 20% concealment and dex to damage all the time. A nice pair of feats, and a human can do this at first level.

I'd allow them to count as fighters.

Also dont forget thicket of blades stance to force all enemies to attack you, or give you an AoO. Great with the Knight abilities to force AoO's

Crusaders rock because Devoted Spirit is the bomb. Hitting people to heal yourself is the best ability outside of Timestop. Yeah yeah, white raven gets timestop, I know, but hey! Crusaders get white raven too.
