    D&D General 6E But A + Thread

Traditionally we see a lot of experimentation (some might call it "flailing") before a new edition, which I certainly don't think we are seeing with the post-Core Book 2024 releases. Of course we don't know what 2026 holds but my guess is that CR using 2024 is going to bolster those rules and...

    D&D General 6E But A + Thread

Few of the people in this thread want the same 6E. I don't even know what you are talking about.

    D&D General 6E But A + Thread

I should have said "until 5.xx tanks" because what I meant was that updates won't work forever.

    No. No we do not.

Paizo Ends Pathfinder Adventure Path Softcovers, Switching to Quarterly Model

I forgot about the shipping saving. Good catch. Of course, I still just want Dragon and Dungeon back...

Until 5.24 tanks. Then we get 6E for real. EDIT: I meant until 5.xx aka updates fail, not that 5.24 specifically will fail.

So you recognize there is a need for the GM to have control over this. hence the dials.

I am pretty sure the monthlies are $30 currently, so you are saving $10.

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

Joking aside, I am surprised Hasbro never just bought CR.

I think that is a dial, too. Some campaigns work well with "long rest is a week in a safe environment" while others would benefit from "you get 2 minor recharges and 1 major recharge per session."

I kinda wish @EzekielRaiden and @Zardnaar would read the thread title and OP again.

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

Oh, sure, it starts there innocently enough, but soon WotC is paying CR to cancel Age of Umbra and start an Exodus stream. Then Daggerheart "sells out" again and is never seen again! Slippery slope!

What Makes A Successful Superhero CAMPAIGN

Yeah, I think of all genres, superheroes is one where players should have veto power over these kinds of events.

    Daggerheart General Thread [+]

Cool. Thank you. Stuff like this is extra helpful for ruling on the fly. If you have a good grasp of the probabilities, it makes settings DCs (and expectations) a lot easier.

Another key 6E component for me would be ease of prep and running on the fly. Maybe hire @SlyFlourish to write the section on making up and altering monsters on the spot.

What is a West Marches game?

I mean, if they aren't it isn't really the game I was talking about.
