D&D General Belts of Giant Strength?

I think it's only really ramped up in importance in 5e. 3e, damage was still based on strength and you needed a feat to use dexterity for hit bonus. 4e it was just another attack stat which was tied to class powers so it didn't matter as much.

D&D General Belts of Giant Strength?

True, but in this case where you're starting at high level, it seems a bit power gamey. Fine if you want to do that, but I think I'd require some investment in strength.

D&D General Belts of Giant Strength?

I like the boosting items, though like you if they are playing a warrior and choose to go 8 strength and replace it with a belt or gauntlets then I'd likely veto that, they should at least have a decent beginning strength with the belt being "found" during their adventuring career.

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

You sound more organised than me, I'll often start a campaign with little to no idea as to where it will lead. The last one I ran (quite some time ago now) had events that would unfold that players could get into or ignore as they wished. First few adventures led into something that was more of...

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

Depends on the players. Are they power gamers or just there to have fun. I think in just a regular game of players who don't spend a lot of time online checking builds, that samurai player would be doing fine and the group would be having fun.

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

Yeah, the theory crafting was crazy, I also thought the tier lists were pretty stupid or existed only for the theory crafters. The majority of people would play whichever class they liked and have fun.

D&D General Requesting Advice on FR Pantheon

This has put the image of Torm and Bahamut flying into battle, Torm as a dragon rider, striking fear into their enemies.

    Old shows that you enjoy?

I went through that list and definitely remember 4 of those shows (some may not have reached NZ) and there are a couple of maybes. It's not something I've really thought of, but the sheer amount of shows and movies we've had since the television was created is truly staggering.

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

Campaign I ran went to exactly 7. We could have continued, there were other parts of the world to explore but life, ah, finds a way to make scheduling difficult. I'm in a level 12 campaign, but that's because we started there, it's also a more casual campaign rather than a more serious play...

D&D General Requesting Advice on FR Pantheon

I always thought that Theros had some great ideas including the feat/special extra at level one and the expanded piety rules. Maybe just taking the 4e FR pantheon would be a good fit, sticking to the greater gods only and then seeing how they map to the Theros deities. I found a list that gave...

D&D General Requesting Advice on FR Pantheon

I was referring to Pelor which was linked to. Asmodeus has been across every setting as the lord of the nine hells.

That's a fandom site, not an official FR site. the link even places him in Oerth not the forgotten realms. He's never been a part of the FR.

    D&D 3.x Still playing 3e? Share your 3.0 and/or 3.5 house rules

I always think of crits against undead as the zombie "Headshot", it's the only way to keep the undead down.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 3 Viewing (Spoilers)

I always thought the Q ascended like the Organians which would mean that they had a homeworld somewhere. I'm not sure it's ever stated before SNW, so I might be mixing it with other random Trek lore or even fan theories.

Forgotten Realms Books to Have Several Digital DLCs, Including One Featuring Asterion

I find her to be a little annoying, she has a bit of a snobby attitude that can grate a little. Still, being a cleric she gets a spot on my team. My current attempt kept her, the warlock guy and I think the tiefling or maybe the githyanki. I think I got the tiefling but missed the first...

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

That's still a good chunk of us Gen Xrs that missed 1e, I'd say anyone born in the 70s would have had a good chance to miss 1e or perhaps only catch the tail end of it when the change was happening. I didn't even know anything about 1e until late 90s with the proliferation of the internet, but...

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

I read the article and pretty much agree with it, the trends are very broad but they are noticeable when it comes to the changes in DnD.

Forgotten Realms Books to Have Several Digital DLCs, Including One Featuring Asterion

Astarian is the one character in BG3 I don't care about picking up (well, in Act 1 anyway, I've barely made it into Act 2). I know roughly where he is, I just don't bother getting him, I find him to be super annoying.

    Old shows that you enjoy?

Does anyone remember the show Automan: I've no idea if I'd still enjoy it (it popped into my head because I comment in the Tron:Ares trailer thread and Tron always reminds me of it), I had to google to find out what it was called but I remember watching it as a kid.

Cool, more Tron, and just when I was thinking of rewatching the first two movies.
