Rules Compendium and the Nature of Magic

It is ironic that you posted this the day that Nova covered a similar situation involving environmental factors. Playing around with the idea, the most basic is to have all 4 goblinoids the same species. Diet affects what the offspring or grandoffspring will be. Lots of food brings about...

    Giant-Robot RPGs

I wonder if Giant Monster Rampage (print from MEG and pdf from Radioactive Press) might be what you are looking for. It shouldn't be difficult to describe the monsters as robots.

d20 in the form of Mechamorphosis, one of the Horizon line from FFG. It is Transformers, more or less.

What are the prefered lab animals for fantasy?

True, but then you refute yourself thusly: That is a very interesting idea. Maybe there are some abberations created to mimic many different species' attributes. Or there are minimals of the various creature types. Or evil wizards should have a serious leg up on research since they have no...

What are the prefered lab animals for fantasy?

I was going to say something sarcastic, but this isn't a bad idea when Wayne mentioned it back in the second post. As long as the people or their families are compensated, why wouldn't good casters and alchemists not use peasants for non-lethal experiments?

What are the prefered lab animals for fantasy?

They are in Dragon 243 and are not for just evil wizards. And how do good wizards and alchemists get around the ethics questions?

What are the prefered lab animals for fantasy?

With all the spell creation and new alchemical formulas being developed all the time, there has to be some animal testing. What critters would make the best specimens?

    Island concept

Yeah, right up there with mosquitos (number one killer of humans), parasitic worms, genetically damaging plastics (which you come into contact daily), brown tree snakes and zebra/quagga mussels (cause billions in damage annually). As for the invasive concept, I tend to use it more in sci-fi...

    Dreadmire - Necromancer Involvement? Reviews?

I own it and it is too short for the ideas within- there so many places within the swamp that get a paragraph that should have a page or two. The monster section is great, the classes are interesting and the adventures are eh. If I bothered with a review, I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad goes to Greyhawk

Not one person mention Splintered Peace from Atlas? It is all about racial tension and riots happen several times (depending on how the PCs react to events).

    SpirosBlaak ? Any good?I

I responded to your crosspost in the ghetto, but I want to stress that lycanthropes and goblins are important to the setting. I also forgot two other races: half ogres and a mixture of human, dwarf and elf (even though elves left the region long ago).

mind flayers, possessors, or phrenic scourges?

If I had to pick, the scourge would be my vote. I disliked illithids when I first read about their society back in 1e days and nothing has changed my opinion (including the Ithiliad). There is another semi-replacement from Khan's Press. Night Terrors: Alien Parasite looked like a great...

    Best single volume RPG?

vs Monsters- a tiny book that has everything required for play and a hell of a lot of hooks.

    PHB - Human only?

How about going a step further and drop dwarves, elves, etc. and allow the DM to create his own races. Races with abilities are set in stone for a lot of people (why I have no idea) and this would kill that.

    Bizarre RPGs

In pdf land, there is Liquid Crystal. You are a robot that has 24 hours to live, learn and then to convince a human council that you will not go amuck if you are given freedom. It is card based.

    D20 Future = Alternity Star*Drive?

Yes, the 4th edition of GURPS Space (which, ironically is for the 4th edition). It explains biochemistry better. In Alternity, any 2 species from series I worlds can survive on their counterpart's. The chemistry is identical. That is silly, though very much in line with Star*Drive like settings...
