    Improved Initiative

Well, Savage Species has a great section on "feating up" monsters...there are a few feats that get more attention than others, because they're good in a general "anything can benefit from this" kind of way. Like Alertness, Weapon Focus, etc... And, a "base +4 of initiative" would mean 4 more...

Who uses a WACOM graphics tablet?

*raises hand* I've got one...it's incredibly helpful for color, brush width...so much. My computer-based art has improved--a lot--because of it. I've got the 4-by-5 model...I've gotten used to the "limited" mouse area--it's not that bad, here. Hope that helps...enjoy your pad, mang. :)

    Building a Better Marilith

That is gorgeous...she's got some succubus in her, methinks... ;) I love the overlap on her arms, and the texture you gave her snakey half... In the color piece, I love the blend of flesh to green you did in her pelvic area... Shweet stuff, mang! :)

    Experience for defeat?

Ooo...it's nice when a thread looks all unanimous n' stuff. :) I also come from the "mistakes equal experience" school of thought. A rough fight, trap or social encounter is definitely something the characters would learn from.

    Word origins: Baatezu and Tanar'ri?

Re: Re: Re: Names???? Well, I know that's not right. Baator wasn't named until Planescape...in the Outer Planes Appendix for the MC, the baatezu were said to be from the Nine Hells... Funny page, mang. :)

    Word origins: Baatezu and Tanar'ri?

Heh. :) I remember first hearing the Player's Primer to the Outlands CD, and hearing some berk say "Bay-AHT-eh-zoo" and "Bay-UH-tor"... I'd always pronounced 'em "Bah-TAY-zoo" and "BAH-tor"...it's one of those habits I just couldn't shake afterward, so, "Bah-TAY-zoo" it stays. :)

    Word origins: Baatezu and Tanar'ri?

Thanks, guys. :) I've also found mention of a "Yuggoth" in Lovecraft works...is that something "hellish", Cthuluheads? From a wordy POV, "baatezu" and "tanar'ri" seem so (what's the word...) "rooted"...I have a hard time believing they were phonetically made-up... "Tanar'ri", in particular...

    Word origins: Baatezu and Tanar'ri?

Hey, all. :) I'm wondering, does anyone here have any information on the etymology of the words "baatezu" and "tanar'ri"? How about "yugoloth"? I know the switch from "devil", "demon", and "daemon" came with 2E's Monstrous Compendium: Outer Planes Appendix, but I've never known the sources of...

[Tiny OT] How many EN Worlders do you personally know?

Oh, Jeebus...so many! But then again, there's a difference between "met" and "know". :) The last EN Worlder I hung out with was Dr. Midnight. We recorded a version of Black Sabbath's "Solitude" together... Before that, it was Piratecat, Kahuna Burger, and Graybar (in-store pirate game)...
