    Banned Spells!

The only official spell I've ever banned in my old campaign was miasma (from MotW). Too deadly (and damn sadistic!) for a low-level druid spell. They recently "revised" it in Complete Divine, and I was hoping it'd be toned down, but from what I hear it wasn't. When I run again, I think...

    Character generation rules

The idea of a roleplaying game with random racial traits is intriguing, though... Didn't the Palladium (bleck) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game have something like that?

    Character generation rules

I really don't get what you're asking, Wraith.

What character generation method do you use?

I've been using 32-point buy in my games, and recommended it to my newest campaign DM. Its benefits? First, point buy's a great way avoid "great at everything characters" (can't have high abilities across the board). Second, it keeps everybody in the same ballpark (no one's "cheated" of a good...

Great thread...it's certainly inspiring me to play a paladin! :)

My Paladin killed a child molester (and now my DM wants to take away my powers!)

I'm of the "should lose his powers" opinion.

How Many ENWorlders Have You Met?

I've met quite a few people here in person.

    How do you pronounce "Drow"?

You could always incorporate both into your campaign--with regional dialect and all. Then you could have these debates in taverns with NPCs. :) "No, no! It's drow!" "My ears--ow! It's drow!" Then a dusky elf can show up and refer to himself by some cool fourteen syllable native word. Then...

    Why Villainous Rants?

You know, you're on to something with the "I want to roleplay, too" angle. Maybe if you just talked to your player from that angle, he'd get it a little more. You pause your NPCs all the time for the PCs' sake, don't ya? Tell him it's a two-way street, and you'll all have a little more fun if...

Phineas's Dungeon Maps o' the Week (100 maps)

Excellent thread! Thanks for the maps, Phineas! Mapping is an aspect of DMing I have the most trouble with--this lightens the pre-game load. :)

Have you played BRP Call of Cthulhu?

I've played BRP Cthulu once, in a oneshot at PegCon. Fun, frightening, fun. :)

    guys and girls

I've played female characters. Never was an issue at any table I've played at, because I didn't really ham up the fact they were female. I guess the "wigginess" of playing an opposite gender character depends on what gender means in a given campaign. If you're roleplaying encounters of...

What are you using from the Miniatures Handbook?

The only thing I've been making any regular use out of are the spells snake's swiftness and legion's snake's swiftness. My druid's party has two Cleave warriors, and me knowing when to cast those spells has really helped them clear up a battlefield. :)

Is the Unearthed Arcana SRD online?

While Gez gives a great description, he only tells you some of what's waiting at NKL. It's not necessarily about doing what you can't here. We're just not about censorship. There are folks who don't rant or post porn, and stay away from anything political. :D Hey, it's kind of like Earth...

#317: Urban Druid var: Sub-Urban druid

Open Garage Door (Sp): At __th level, the suburban druid can open a garage door remotely. This functions as the open/close spell, usable at will--only on garage doors. Sprinkler Evasion (Ex): A __th level suburban druid gains the evasion ability, applicable only to the foul, waterbased traps...

Let's name the fourth book in WotC's 'Complete' series

Hmm... I'd settle for Complete Expert or maybe Complete Finesse (well, I'd actually settle for whatever they name it, but you know what I mean) but it needs something with more personality. And Complete Scoundrel is too villainous (to me). Complete Knave? Complete Cunning? Complete Guile...
