Depends on what Disney does with the D&D brand after it buys Hasbro.

One of the first characters in our 2014 5e campaign was a dragonborn ancients paladin. Two of our brand-new-to-D&D players that joined later also made dragonborn (another ancients paladin, and an eldritch knight, respectively).

Is this still in the 2024 DMG?

I'm 99.999% decided against going with 2024 5e, based on the PHB and DMG information, since it gets rid of several things I liked about 2014 and doesn't offer me anything that compensates. The 0.001% chance I might change my mind depends on the Monster Manual... but what we know of it so far...

The monster making guidelines aren't in that part of the free rules, either. I mean, unless I'm missing something. @dave2008 says they're just gone from the free rules.

FWIW, I think Shyamalan did a good job of building up tension when needed (including the scariest scene of someone walking past a doorway I'd ever seen).

IIRC in at least one version of Ravenloft, Strahd could enter any home in Barovia at will because he was the lawful lord (and not just darklord). EDIT: Semi-confirmed, that was the case in 2e's Domains of Dread, page 62. Though it's apparently because he's so bound to the land of Barovia, not a...

Chains of Asmodeus (along with Minsc and Boo's Journal of Villainy) has the advantage of being officially a Wizards of the Coast product, while still third-party produced - if that helps make them more palatable to the third-party-averse.
