LOL. You are right. Mass hysteria and paranoic conspiration theories are much funnier to watch than that boring and over educated logical discussion
QFT.
If you are in the 20%, it's easier for you to update yourself than waiting for the big company to realease its main product aiming at your taste.
So all this nervous and agressive stress is fruitless.
When threads get heated up like this I thank god gamers are like this:
and not like this:
To me the most "unfun" thing in D&D are bad DMs. I hope WOTC can fix that in 4E, somehow...
OMG it's just a blog entry. It's just the guy's thought at that moment, some passing feelings he had while writing his blog.
WOTC designers don't put up meetings to decides things like that:
-Ok we are here today to discuss the reason why we are making a 4E. I vote for "We are doing it better...
Primary and secondary skills???
WoW ALERT!!! WoW ALERT!!!
I like it. I hope they do something like that, some skills are important for a RPG to flesh out the character, but not so imporant in the overall game balance.
Is the D20 licence dead? Will 4E be open?
NO, YES
How big of a change is this looking to be? Like 1E to 2E or 2E to 3E?
More like 1E to 2E. D20 system remains.
How compatable will all the current D20 product be?
Mostly not compatible.
Any mention of reducing reliance on Magic items...
A brand new homebrew here when 4E arrives :)
I was already putting up notes for setting inspired on the Iron Heroes "swordlands" idea, but since it seems it has a new name, Points of Light, I'll be putting up a setting that follows that premise.
Over and over?? it was what? 2 rounds?
But I know what you mean, I also always got bored with the fighter, swinging his weapon over and over again in every single encounter. Good that they are fixing it.
Lol. Another no-winning situation for my list.
"it's D&D 4E with whole new art!"
"ah, why do we need new art? it's a change for the sakes of change, it adds nothing to the game"
"it's a new D&D editon, but the art you love from the previous edition remains!"
"we are been ripped off! we are...
Yeah, it would be cool to see some of that design philosophy in 4E.
"Your fighter can activate that special maneuver at will, but if it fails, he is prone, or he provokes an AoO."
Or something like that.
