What do you have against the powergamers that play the game like a video game?

You can see Mike Mearl's ideas evolving and maturing in his recent works regarding combat focused characters, starting in BOIM, going to Iron Heroes, Bo9S and finally 4E edition. It's basically the same intent behind all these rules.

Exactly. Actually I risk to say 4E is the TRUE Monte Cook's D&D :p

"we want to make a better D&D" "you just want our money" "we're are making a better D&D game" "so you mean that 3E, the game I've spent thousands of dollars into, just sucks?" "the game is becoming great because we do love D&D" "so the old game is not good because the designer didn't love it...

There will be a value in the monster stats for that, based on a brand new system for tailoring combats that's easier, simpler and better. Because the new system will let you tailor combats with multiple different monsters with different power levels much faster than making all that crazy...

I can't remember where i've read about it, or if it was just a dream, but I think it was already pretty clear from some tibbits that CR was gone. I'll look for it.

Or maybe they are seeting up a swimming pool in the next D&D Experience so everyone can refresh themselves.

Or you can keep playing D&D and use that rituals from Unearted Arcana. I think they are a sub system loose enough to be brought to 4E. Who knows? I like'em :)

I never really understood the difference between Damage Reduction and Natural Armor, i hope they become one thing. Edit: I mean generic DR, not the DR/magic, DR/Silver etc.

Yeah, that's a sad episode of RPG history. Iron Heroes is a orphan game. Mike Mearls left it unfinished, and Monte Cook never really loved it or cared about it. I hope the guys from Fiery Dragon turn it into 4E, it'll be a blast!

Arcana Evolved with a new name. Maybe Arcana Reborn, or Arcana Revolution. Ptolus . Of course you just can't upgrade Monalisa, but it would be cool to see things in Ptolus converted to 4E. I'll have it in delver's square for sure. Most Malhavoc stuff too. Conan. Call of Cthulhu 4e, 30 level...

And what would be a better solution? Taking away classes wouldn't make it feel like D&D either. It certainly wouldn't be D&D anymore.
