    Which feats are "feat tax"?

Whoops! Browser Settings Incompatible Like that one, which says PCs fall behind by 4? The math isn't hard. Monster defenses go up by 1 per level. That is +29 to defenses over level 1. Add up the boosts PCs get from level+items+stat, it is 25. Those are the only things that are considered to...

The flattening of Dungeons and Dragons

Bursts/Blasts are cubes.... RC makes this clear, I concede up till the RC it was unclear by RAW (though very clear by RAI, since the developer's said so via one of the podcasts).

    VTT beta feedback?

It works, for the most part, but until they get integration going with their other tools it offers nothing that other tools don't.... and those tools are superior. Several issues arise of course, not least the fact the tools they want to integrate are riddled with bugs that may carry over into...

    Changes to Brash Stike?

Yeah, don't see the issue. The BRV change is incredibly old at this point, Fighters have Feats/Utility Powers to negate CA. /Shrug. Though personally my favorite trick for optimizing Brash Strike is a Half-Elf BRV Fighter/Bard/Daring Blade. You go Cha/Con and take Harlequinn style. ^.^

    Which feats are "feat tax"?

Yeah, damn those lead developers, having opinions on their game, saying silly things like they give out expertise for free because it improves the game. House Rules: Bonus Feats Eye of the Beholder

    Which feats are "feat tax"?

Assuming two 16s and 12/12 in other NAD feats, at epic the lowest NAD will be 7 behind and the rest will be 2-3. A single Epic NAD Feat to the lowest NAD and Improved Defenses fixes that. If you do this, ban the rest of the epic NAD feats. Exceptions tend to be Dual-Stat NAD builds (Cha/Wis...

Daily item limits: are they "officially" gone?

In LFR the following is true. 1.) You have nothing to spend your money on other then upgrading items. You can use straight gold to upgrade an item. You get level appropriate gold as the base minimum in LFR, and it can go higher depending on the module (never lower). 2.) At every level you get...

    Which feats are "feat tax"?

Actually if you're trying not to confuse them I'd just wait till 5 and explain your decision then. And tell them they cannot take Expertise till 5 in the meantime. ^.^

    Stacking AC bonuses?

    You wouldn't.

    Which feats are "feat tax"?

See, this is now a tough question. Expertise and Paragon/Robust Defenses and one untyped Epic NAD feat at Epic to the lowest NAD and then ban the rest is the answer that easily fixed most of the math issues. But now you have stuff like Light Blade Expertise, whose secondary benefit is...

Daily item limits: are they "officially" gone?

If you look in the RC under the "Milestone" entry the "gain a blah" is gone. Because there is no longer a limit. RC also has the rarity rules.

    Building a practical unarmed monk

Inherent Bonuses would solve the issue. A Hybrid Fighter|Monk with Brawler Style Hybrid Talent would as well (low AC/spending feats to fix AC is an issue tho). If Ki Foci are OK just get Improved Unarmed Strike and MC Fighter for Shock Trooper. +3/1d12 Unarmed Strike. Half-Orc makes that work best.

Does Distracting Flare let you stealth?

Being completely undetectable, having CA against everything, and having a +5 bonus to all defenses is supposed to be hard. Being Hidden is supposed come at a huge opportunity cost, and yes, monsters will reasonably assume you are in the last square they saw you (which is why all stealth...

Power Attack feat and Touch attacks

PA only requires a "Melee Attack." Says nothing about a weapon.

    Melee and Reach

"Melee" is a type of attack. "Melee 1" is a range, a melee attack that can attack within 1 square of the attacker or less (less in this case being in his own square). Basically if the target is adjacent to you or in your square. Reach 1 adds a square to the range, if applicable. A "Melee 1"...

Is there a skill-oriented paragon path?

Jack of all Trades, MP2. Will require a Rogue MC. If he's an Archer Ranger it'll work great, if he's a Str-based Ranger maybe his DM would houserule the powers to use Str. ^.^

D&D 4E What level have you achieved in a 4E campaign?

1-30 twice. After that everyone pretty much decided Heroic was boring by comparison, and I've done 12-30... 17? times since then. Around there. We play twice a week in two parallel campaigns for 4-6 hours. We actually follow XP values, we don't auto-level at point xyz or anything. We just...

    Polearm Feats

Oh man. I didn't say that was your reaction. It is the evaluation of if it is cheesy or not from thread you linked. Your thread. My point was had you actually read the thread you linked, rather then just quickly trying to find a way to justify calling it "cheese" you'd see that the writers of...

    Clockwork Cowl

Storm Pillar doesn't. RC requires an attack roll or a target for something to be "an attack." Which agrees with PHB FAQ 38. "Attack Power" is insufficient (Stances, etc., are not attacks).

    Polearm Feats

I was quoting the thread you linked. That you didn't actually read. Because you'd rather simplify things and have an opinion, but looking at facts and considering all the complexities of a situation results in a real answer. Irony is priceless.
