Of course. The events could still have happened, and if some are chosen and others are not, it is a good way to perhaps introduce Alternates later in the game as well. And about the misstrust that often plagues PbP, I totally agree! Playing a party where wll know and trust eachother is easier...

Never played eberron, neither do I have any of the eberron books. However, I do have access to them through friends, so it's not a problem, unless you require extensive knowledge about the setting.
