[Green Ronin] Pirate's Guide to Freeport Preview #1

Looks great :D And the opening image of the pdf is fantastic. I'm really looking forward to this, as well as the d20 companion product. I've got the original and it's a great setting, so it will be fantastic to have an updated version. Do you have a release date for the guide? And when is...

What the hell happened? RHoD (spoilers)

I'm presently running RHoD and have been making changes where needed to challange my players. I don't think any module can possibly suit every party make-up, so it's quite imprtant to taylor things a little. Threads like this can be very useful in giving a heads-up to potential pitfuls and...

Who will take up the Printed Game Magazine challenge?

I don't see anyone stepping up at this point and printing Dragon/Dungeon type magazines. As others have already said, if it doesn't have the official seal it just doesn't sell. And in the present uncertain climate I don't think anyone will be prepared to invest any money in a project which may...

Game 07, Manchester, England, 23-24th June

Well, I'm all booked up and really looking forward to it :) I can't believe it's less than 2 weeks away now! Although I'll be concentrating on the skirmish events, there sounds like a really good spread of games and there should be something for everyone. I'm expecting to have a lot of fun...

The problem with magic in D&D

You've no idea how much that made me laugh. Thank you :)

Jeans and T-shirt :) I wore shorts once, but it wasn't a pretty sight...

    Dragons Are Disposable(D.A.D.)Membership drive

Just another critter as far as I am concerned - just generally badder and tougher than the usual. The players in my group always fear an encounter with a dragon and the encounters are nearly always tough (and often enough the PCs are forced to reatreat and come up with a better plan). But...

    D&D 4E I'm not gonna do 4E

But at least you got to eat your dinner before they take the plates away ;) I have a lot of stuff that I haven't used yet, so don't really feel any need to switch at this present time. It isn't particularly an economic thing - I'll almost certainly pick up the core books and I'll continue to...

    Storing D&D Dungeon Tiles?

There's some great ideas here. I just throw mine in a tub - but that makes it quite difficult to find particular tiles (especially the small ones). I think I may have to adopt some of the ideas shared here :)

    Domination

Thanks, Shilsen. So is that the generally considered opinion then: that spells continue until their duration expires (or some other event causes them to end) even if the caster is dead? Thanks again :)

    Domination

Assuming that the victim has failed their save and has been dominated and set a task by the caster, does domination end if the caster is later killed before the spell expires, or does the victim continue to follow out their task until the spell expires or the task is complete? Thanks!

    Using 3rd party stuff.

Why not? There's a wide range of very talented writers that don't work for WotC who produce top quality, top notch material. Not everything is, of course, but then not everything that WotC produce is either. To deny yourself the opportunity of experiencing some of the superb 3rd party...

Do Illusions show up in mirrors?

I'd say yes as well. An illusion is a state of mind, not a reflection on reality.

Help: Game tonight and no ideas!

You can download a free adventure from The Kyngdoms website: http://www.thekyngdoms.com/utils/utils.shtml Just click on the button under Adventures and download it. It's for 1st level characters and is pretty short - so doesn't take a lot of prep time. It does involve a difficult opponent...

25 Years of Dungeons and Dragons

Wow - that's truly impressive. Congratulations to everyone! Our group has been running since 23rd April 2003 and we're now into our third campaign (the first was very brief...). Of the original group, only myself (the DM) and 1 player remain. I have a lot of very fond memories.

    Dragon/Dungeon still in book stores?

I spotted Dungeon at our local shop, but not Dragon. The owner said there hadn't really been any demand for them for a while. I think most people picked them up through subcription, which worked out to be subtantially cheaper than buying individual copies.

    Drow book and FL maps

Just got my copy this morning and I thought the maps scaled pretty well. Personally I think it is an excellent idea and a shame that they didn't use more of the Fantastic Location maps in other source books. It may have helped to make the FL series more desirable for role players. As it is...

    Alternative origins of the drow

Try reading the History of the Aslah and of Arrasia, in which the drow's story is told. In particular, try chapter 20, chapter 21 and chapter 30. However, it's a pretty interwoven read, so it's probably better just to read the whole thing (though, of course, I would say that).
