    About Reveille

Well, I fell for it hook, line and sinker. Oh well. More fool me. It was a really horrid thing to do, for sure, but I'm not gonna crucify the guy for it. Who knows what's going on inside his head? He's been banned and that's that. Personally I also think the mods should delete the original...

    RE: Reveille

Hey, great news! Really fantastic. Now make sure you don't go leaving us again :D And don't forget to give Mandy a big kiss. She held your hand through the wilderness, man. Good to see you back, Rev :)

Do energy weapons stay "on" when not held?

I also house rule this: a weapon automatically switches off when not in hand (so when sheathed, dropped, disarmed, etc).

Why doesn't WotC license older editions?

According to Internet World Stat News there was a 106% increase in Internet usage in the US from 2000 to 2005. This data is pretty well supported by data360.org which show a similar increase up to 2008. If we say that the number of D&D players today is equal to the number playing back in 2000...

I only know Rev from these boards, but that is tragic news indeed and it saddens me deeply. I hope he recovers swiftly.

    New Miniatures... Info?

Sorry, Johhny, the 'blind' comment wasn't aimed at you - it was just a general term for people who have been stuffed by wotc. Since I quoted you, however, I can see why it would come across that way, but it wasn't my intention.

    New Miniatures... Info?

True, but I have all the minis I mentioned and they're all fantastic commons and I can't really see any difference between what I own and those images. They're fantastic commons and what I was expecting from the new sets, given the price rise. As for the goliath, other than the sculpt there's...

    New Miniatures... Info?

Don't expect everyone to blindly follow WotC's lead. WotC dumped big time on the skirmishers and dumped big time on ddm collectors and those that had invested heavily in purchasing their minis line, so it should be no surprise that people are now taking a cautious and sceptical approach to a...

    New Miniatures... Info?

You mean, like these, which were recently displayed at DDXP? And here's an uncommon (which may be a desirable figure, but is still a very basic paint job): I see no difference in quality here and the commons are as bad as anything I've seen. Compare them to these commons from GoL...

    New Miniatures... Info?

You can see the prices here - so $10.99 for the Heroes sets and $14.99 for the delve boosters. That is a significant price rise from the present random boosters. Previously, the average price for a single non-huge figure came in at $1.87 (based on the current RRP of $14.99), but for the future...

    New Miniatures... Info?

Apparantly the distribution for the MM Delves (40 figures per set) is 8 Visible, 8 Common, 8 Uncommon, 16 Rare and you get 8 boosters per case. Also (apparantly) cases will come with 1 each of the 8 visible minis (I've also heard that you'll be able to buy cases based on the inidividual...

When did I stop being WotC's target audience?

Two points struck me as I've been reading (some of) this thread: 1) Those buyers who help support an edition by buying the vast majority of it are always going to be the ones that get screwed. They buy all the kit and help the edition be successful, only to feel totally abandoned when a new...

    Starting HP

Yep, max hit points at first level. It's hard enough as it is, but a barbarian with 1 hp - surely that's a wizard who mistook his calling :p After 1st level I offer players the option of taking average hit points or rolling. If they roll less than 25% of the maximum they get a reroll (so no...

    calculating XP and traps

I'm not aware of any hard and fast rules on this (though someone else might), but if you're planning on building an encounter around a trap, then I would certainly include it as part of the EL. If it's just incidental - and is equally dangerous to both the adventurers and monsters - then I...

    XP calculator

Well, here's an EL and xp calculator on my site and which I use all the time. I don't think it's the one you're looking for, but it is still a very useful tool. I primarily use it to calculate EL and do the xp by hand. I have no ida why

Add me to the list as well. I've emailed RPGNow and made them aware of the problem (and this thread).

Tell me about your D&D group

How long has your group been playing together? Nearly six years now. What are the ages, genders, and professions of the people in your group? Generally, we're in our thirties and forties, though one is late twenties. Mostly, we're IT, but there's a policeman and shop keeper (from our LFGS)...
