Stats modifiers and +1/2 level. Where does it apply?

I thought that every time there was a stat modifier, it was always included the +1/2 level, but now I'm not so sure.

    Spell Disruption

OK, make it (Int modfier + 1/2 level), I thought it was automatically included, but now I'm not so sure.

Stats modifiers and +1/2 level. Where does it apply?

We know that the +1/2 level apply to attack rolls, skills rolls and defenses. do we know for sure if it apply somewhere else? I've heard that it applies to all uses of stat modifiers (i.e. damage) but I'd like to know if it was official or just a rumor. Thanks.

    Spell components gone

not always, but there are situations when it should be done (you are marooned on a island for two months, good luck finding a...mh, let me see, drop of mercury for your floating disk, like if mercury is easy to find anywhere else anyway) and some components are just more uncommon than others.

    Spell components gone

To create interesting situations, it is like superman and kriptonite, or batman without utility belt, sure, it can be abused but can create problems that make the story more interesting. It is like another tihng that 4e seems to have eliminated, the "invulnerable monster", you have a monster...

    Spell components gone

It is funny because what you mentioned are things that I don't like in 4e. More specifically there is still some situation where a caster can't use his spells and must limit himself to swing with a weapon? The only thing semm to be if they lose their implement. If 3e teached me something tihs...

    Spell Disruption

Not bad but this way it is easier to counterspell wizards than priests or bards I'd make int vs (stat used by the spell) and daily seems too weak, you are using an action to stop someone from using his action. And if you fail you just used an action with no effect if you want daily I'd do...

    Tactical Boardgame?

If people can praise something that very few have actually seen (this famous , or phantomatic, social resolution system) then other people can critique something that they have actually seen or played. Is is almost funny when people critique something of the 4e and other people defend it basing...

D&D 4E Are Talents Trees still in 4e?

I distinctly remember comments about use of talent trees to customize character in some of 4e designer comments (even if maybe they said "talent-tree likes") PErsonally Iliked very much D20 modern talent tree, they are a good tool (imho) to customize a class without the need to create scores of...

D&D 4E Are Talents Trees still in 4e?

I admit I wrote that in the spur of the moment. Depending on what powers (and maybe feats) they put out talent tree could be unneccessary, or even be present under a different guise. And yet, judging from the not-so-few powers we have seen until this point I must keep my vote of suckyness...

D&D 4E Are Talents Trees still in 4e?

Well, this sucks. Another point for the "4e sucks" column.

D&D 4E Are Talents Trees still in 4e?

In the first days of 4e was mentioned that it would have used something similiar to the d20 modern/SWSE talents trees, but in the late news I have seen nothing about then. Someone is able to tell me if they know something about them? Are still in 4e? were they removed? I just hope they weren't...

    Falling Damage?

FWIW I once come up with a simple (and deadly) home rule, falling damage (or any kind of damage which reasonably could not be avoided, like falling into lava, unlike say, a greataxe's swing) was always considered like a coup de grace. So if you take 30 hp of falling damage you had to pass a DC...
