I haven't been happy with With for a while- honestly I thought many of the last releases for a long while haven't been good for a while. Add several of us had fantasy fatigue for a while.....but third party products had kept us going. But a while we started a new game with some "new" rule set...

Then those execs don't understand why people are spending money on 3pp. Third parties provide product that wizards is not providing. Its never going to end up going back to wizards unless they put out those priducts( which wizards isn't going to do). And that money will stay in consumers pockets

Hard pass on onednd. Without OGL its not worth it as, in my opinion and tastes, many of the last couple releases have been substandard and not worth picking up. Its ok, got enough material and rule sets to find a game or start my own once my current one dies down

Thanks for the review. Definitely more generous then some of the other reviews I have seen. Especially some weird math or errors it feels like. Plus feels incomplete

1st lacked serious third party support yes. Because remember it was wildly popular for it’s day. Without all the media support, streamer, celebrities coming out of the woodwork in support, Dmsguild, online playing platforms and OGL support from 3rd parties that 5e enjoys today

All three are nice but think Dwarrowdeep is more what your looking for rather then barrowmaze or forbidden caverns

I think if you gave 1st edition some of the same advantages like dmsguild and OGL and support from streamers and pop culture and CR it would have been wildly popular more so then it was and as popular or more then 5e 3.x would suffer a bit from crunch that it was. But would have gotten a bump...

Without third party I would move on from 5e and D&D. Many of WotCs releases in my opinion and tastes have been substandard. Third party has ideas and adventures that I like way better and spend my money accordingly

I think it was a fun setting if it was stand alone but will be interesting to see. Frankly having owned editions 1 thru 4 that I enjoyed. 5th was a skip, 5e will be interesting to take a look at

That’s every community. Wargaming 40k community was brutal back in the day when I played Just ignore the community when it gets crazy. It’s what I do nowadays
