Excerpt: Open Grave - Origins and Society

Good Lord in Heaven, inspiring fluff in 4th edition! Ironically that article inspired me to rethink and further refine a different kind of Elf. I suppose I'm going to have to buy this book when it comes out.

    Mundane Equipment

I think there's supposed to be a 4th edition book which will have more standard gear but I don't think it's out yet and I forgot what it's called and who's publishing it. Edit: This might be it. http://www.ccgarmory.com/adeqgudanddr.html I have no idea how good it is though.

It sounds great, it really shows some variation in combat.

    Oooooh Monster Descriptions...

Ok, now that REALLY pisses me off. They should be in an errata file or something PS: The ritual seems to have a component cost of 5000 per level of the creature created. But since that makes little sense, don't quote me on it.

    Oooooh Monster Descriptions...

Frankly, I'm a bit annoyed at this. This should have been in the monster manual. I'm thinking that most players who start DnD with fourth edition could have used it. It's not like they didn't know about the fluff. It's about the same as the last editions.

4th ed Druid over wizard? Over 3.5 druid?

According to the preview depending on build they will have a high Dex (which would help their armour class) or they would use their Con as their AC. So when it comes to AC the Druid is at least as good as the Wizard, if not better.

Eladrin Rogue Questions - skills and feats ?

Useless if you've just used an at-will, but quite valuable if you just used your most powerful daily.

Manual of the Planes Excerpt: Feywild

Not bad. I'm still happy I made my own Feywild though. It suits my tastes better. Although I wish they would have some fluff that demonstrates exactly how the Eladrin are enigmatic. So far they keep on saying that they're amoral and enigmatic but we don't really see any real indication of this.

    Best version of Eladrin?

I'm curious, what kind of Eladrin do people like best? We have the default version, perhaps best portrayed (fluffwise) here and in the "Races and Classes" book (although of course also shown in other 4th edition products). I bet that people have made their own homebrewed versions. Could you...

    DMs and Player's Powers

No, I feel much the same way. the problem is that much of 4th edition, especially the powers and such are absolutely and completely boring on paper. Mechanically, on paper, the characters just feel the same. Even different classes don't feel that much different. It doesn't really help that...

    What's my (PC's) motivation?

I've played quite a few, although the most common in our group might just be "We like to kill things". Sometimes you're a duty bound paladin who wants to rid the world of evil, sometimes it's just for the money, and sometimes, it's just because you want to stick a sword through something and...

Multiclass ranger - extra Hunter's Quarry uses?

I think it's because Elves seem to tend to be Archers. Since the path doesn't require an Archer Fighting Style, Elven Wizards, Rogues etc can choose it simply by choosing the ranger multiclass feat.

Can human arcane spellcasters wear armour?

I said yes on the poll, but would like to elaborate. While Wizards should be able to able to wear armour, they should never be wearing plain armour. It should always have protective magic on it, for example runes and such. strictly for flavour reasons though, no mechanical ones. Also, what...

D&D 3.x 4E vs 3E... what are the main changes?

The man can disagree if he wants. It's not a crime to think that it's stupid. In any case, 4th edition is simply a completely different game compared to the third edition. But to give you some comparison: Some things are better. Probably the best improvement is that the game is a LOT easier...
