Forked Thread: ... with an interesting note about 4th edition

Mongoose's products might sell better if I could actually FIND them in the stores and see if they're good enough to use. A single paragon preview is not enough to be convincing, I want to know what *options* it gives wizards.

    "Bulk" rules are needed

I think it's called common sense. 5 quivers max

House Rule - level bonus added to damage?

It would reduce the need for damage related feats and speed up combat. It would also reduce the impact of encounters and dailies (relative to at wills). That said, try it out and see what happens.

    Wild Shape, What's Yours?

My Druid comes from the Frozen North and conjures up the cold blizzards and savage storms of the most barren regions of his homeland. He doesn't have a single shape but shifts between different animals from his homeland depending on what he does. While charging he's a snow leopard, when tanking...

    Court of the Stars!

*can't wait to compare his Fey Gods to WotC's Archfey*

    What are Tieflings good at?

Well for me it's just the Catholic/Emo element. I don't like the horns and hell thing (my hells are a bit more inventive) and a don't like names like Chant and such. So they got refluffed.

Help Please: Losing Cleric - How to Replace with Magic Items?

Wait, a Cleric would only be able to use their healing word twice per fight. Include lets say 2 healing powers that can be used in a burst. I think that with a healers sash and 2 Second Winds per encounter should be more then enough. After all it's not like he didn't have to spread them out...

The Druid makes me chew the furniture

An important part of the Druids shapeshifting ability will be a class feature which will make the class more unique and less easy to copy through a feat or two.

    Skill Challenge Article

I'm just wondering, could someone with an insider subscription tell me what the "Skill Challenge article was about? Especially if it was good or not?

    Dragons, Dragons, Dragons

What role do Dragons usually play in your game? I think that most of all I use them as "end" bosses at the end of an adventure (or at least a dungeon) but then we have all that talk of using Elder dragons as great manipulators and such, even making the Kings vizier and the Guild Masters their...

    Broken and banned

Hmm, let me also add things banned because of lameness to the original question. And immediately say that some of the double weapons are banned from my campaign because of said lameness. Especially Double Flail.

    Broken and banned

Hmm, 4e must be more balanced then I thought it was. Although I'm surprised that no ones mentioned the "Rod of Reaving", which will not find it's way in my game for quite a while.

    Broken and banned

I'm just curious, which feats, classes, items, powers, combo's etc do you consider broken? And which ones are so broken (or otherwise disliked) that you will not allow them in your game? Edit: Also items banned for sheer "lameness"

So I have the Martial Powers book.

I kinda like the Ravager, in some ways I kinda think it's more like the Barbarian then the Barbarian (except for the lack of Raging)

Martial Power and Races: Dragonborn and Tieflings

I must say, I'm quite happy that Race is starting to matter beyond the first level benefits. Now we just need a Heroic Tier.

Do you read RPG books all the way through?

I'll read WoD ones from front to back multiple times. I'd read quite a bit of the DnD books, but not every page. I simply don't find the latter very interesting. They are hopelessly deficient when it comes to fluff.

    Some starter questions.

I wonder, does anybody think that you might be able to learn ADnD faster by playing videogames that use the ruleset? If so which ones do people think would be best? I wouldn't mind IM'ing you (although I haven't played ADnD I might be able to help you with other aspects) What is your e-mail?

    Sandbox World in 4th

I want to create a massive Sandbox world for a long term 4th edition campaign. The idea is that the players are explorers mapping out the world, finding out legends, new cities and cultures and civilisations and wiping out dangerous threats if possible. Think of it as a mix of Anthropologists...

Anyone have the new Quintessential Wizard?

Gloom Necromancers? Do you mean that the book has rules for Necromancy? Does it have anything for Necromancers on Heroic level? That would make it a "must have" book. Providing the rules are good. I'm going to go to the nearest store today and see if they have the book.
