Stuff that still bugs me about 4e

Well, there is the "Remove Affliction" ritual for petrification. Of course that doesn't help you till after the battle.

Gentleman, my nomination fr the thread :p

    Playing Gnolls

Magic tattoo's, the downside is that while you may be able to upgrade them later on in power the basic enchantment is the same. Flaming claws will never be anything other then flaming claws. I suppose if you wanted to temporarily disarm one you could clip his nails. Should keep him down for a...

    [Adventurer's Vault] Problematic Items

True, but I think the whole point is "why have a normal dagger when you could have a distance dagger for the same price?"

    Nature Priest

I'm surprised that no ones noticed this before, isn't the Nature Priest (from the upcoming advanced player's guide) going to have some problems with his AC? The Nature Priest has all 3 light armour proficiencies and has Wisdom as a primary ability supported by Charisma and Constitution...

    Alchemy...Too Expensive?

I believe that there's a much more efficient solution. There's a Wonderous Item (I believe level 3) that allows you to breath fire like a Dragonborn once per day for an attack bonus equal to your level + 5. Flask of Dragonbreath.

    Free 4e Character Generator

Well I definitely agree. I think what you really need is one of the admins to approve it.

    Alchemy

Well, some of us have had the pleasure of reading the new Alchemy rules and items, so what do you think? Is alchemy good? Bad? Power creep? Underpowered? Which alchemy items do you like? Which ones seem utterly pointless?

    Wagons of Death!

Are there any rules for dodging? It's a bit odd if characters can't even try to dodge it or otherwise mitigate damage. I think I predict house rules for adding things to the chariot to make it more suitable for ramming...

Why is everyone so down on Charm Person?

I think it's really just the thought of being manipulated. But I don't think you're supposed to actually let the other person know that they've just been enchanted, otherwise it wouldn't work as well. "I know you're a trusted friend but you just cast a charm on me, so while I feel this way I...

    References to Barbarian playtest vanished?

Oh come on, we all know that Scott_Rouse explanation is a cover up. We all know the real reason why it was withdrawn. The real story is a terrifying horrific secret not meant for the general public. It is a saga including death defying traps, pits filled with Drizzt fanboys, DnD cosplay and an...

    Comprehensive list of civilizations/socities

Well you have the Polynesian and the Malaysian civilisations. They seem to be distinct enough (if Russian civilisation is different enough from European). There's the Islamic civilisation. I can't think of any other though at the moment.

Tu Wrod the Warlock, Minion Sweeper Of Doom

I wouldn't allow it simply because it's game breaking. However there is a rule rational for not allowing it as well. A Warlock can only place a curse on an opponent once per turn. While you might say that this combination is an exception, the Rod of Corruption also transfers the curse to...

    Shuriken question

You get multiple of them because they get "used up", which is why you should get magical ones really. They never get used up and they return to your hand like a boomerang.

    Gary Gygax's World Builder

I was just browsing through the World Builder book and I had to wonder, has the information in that book actually been of any use in your adventurer. To those who haven't read it or who haven't read it for a while this is a few (of the strangest) examples. The Mineral hardness of Gems on the...

A new podcast idea (Forked Thread: 2008/8/28 Tabletop RPG Podcasts)

I found it quite nice, although I don't know if I would have called taking storylines from books and movies "theft". And I'm pretty sure it's impossible to sue someone over that anyway, there's no profit being made.

    Farewell to thee D&D

I'm going to have to disagree with this. The OP made some comments, some of them I agree with, some of them I don't. Some of them were invalid (in the sense that they were based on a misunderstanding) But the OP was quite valid in disliking 4th edition. You see, 4e is NOT the same beautiful...

    Travelling PC's

How do you deal with PC's travelling to places that they (by right) should know very little of? For example if a player character travels to another plane of existence where customs are different then he's ever encountered (possibly with a different language as well). For a less magical...
