Is 3.x Your Favorite Version of D&D?

Yes, D&D v3.5 is the best edition of D&D yet published. There is no way in Hell that I'll ever play any previous editions ever again.

    Whose Enjoyment Matters Most?

The GM is the lynchpin that holds it all together. No GM, no game, no fun for anyone. Players, by comparison, are expendable.

    Good Superhero-Game?

I can play M&M cold and stupid. I can't do that with HERO. M&M wins.

    Is D&D Your Favorite RPG?

The current edition is, but not previous editions.

Ken Hite Re: The RPG Industry

The model will change when D&D changes its model, and no sooner. Until then, all you'll see are more companies either closing shop or retooling away from TRPGs to something else, like boardgames.

Are halflings hobbits in your game?

Halfling = Hobbit, now and forever.

Do You Prefer a Humanocentric RPG Setting?

Yes, I do prefer a humanocentric setting. Other races should, by and large, be restricted to NPCs and non-human player-accessable racial options should never be a better option (in terms of gameplay) than Men.

Best Class for a new player

Barbarian: The only active ability is Rage. Everything else is passive, and the default feat tree--PA, Cleave, Great Cleave (w/ one other if human)--makes for a dead-simple playing style. Go with that every time for a newbie.

What character classes are in your campaign?

By default, I ban everything outside the core as well as the Monk. Specific cases vary.

Do your players know the rules?

Of my crew, only two are possessed of sufficient rules mastery. Three others are not, and it's causing problems for them and their PCs. This is a self-correcting problem, so I'm not worried about it.

Choose one race in addition to the core races

By default, I would restrict player-available racial choices to Dwarves, Elves, Halflings, and Men.

What's your favorite "basic" race to play (and why)?

Human, then Dwarf. Never a half-elf or a gnome. Rarely an elf, halfling or half-orc.

Heart of Nightfang Spire help sought

Three multiclassed spellcasters? The rest are fighter/rogues? Those spellcasters are dead men walking, which means that the fighter/rogues will be eaten last.

    Adventure Path Three: You'd Do...

I want to see a series take place entirely beyond the boundaries of civilization, one that focuses upon rural and wilderness locations exclusively, one that focuses on one climate type across a variety of terrains. Let this be the path where travel is an adventure in itself, at least until the...

Fiction, rules, or setting first in a core book?

Rules only. Setting gets its own book. Fiction gets curbstomped into a messy paste.

    Tower Shield

With rulings like this, I cannot see any reason to maintain the "no facing" policy; it's all or nothing- no half-measures. This ruling is just that.

Does anyone else never play humans?

I will not deviate from the baseline unless I have a overwhelmingly-compelling reason to do so, to the point where I will scourge gratuitous deviations from the norm out of published material when I use it. Therefore the vast majority of my characters are human, PC and NPC alike.

    A Party with no Cleric/Druid?

Without access to some form of regular, reliable healing magic you swiftly experience the joy of a Total Party Kill.

Do you prefer the 3.5 or the 3.0 weapon size rules?

3.5 works better in actual play.
