D&D 4E Material components and spell books? Get rid of them for 4e!

I'd like spell components to change so that they ADD to the spell and no longer prevent it from being cast. I'd like to see components suggested in the text of the spell that would up the effect of the spell....either higher DC or caster level or increased range/AoE or duration, or heck even...

At what point are you no longer playing AD&D?

I'd have to go with that... I've played in too many tweaked games. I've played in game with no tweaks...but no rules either....and they were all D&D. I want to say when game is skill point driven and not class driven...but I've played in those D&D games too... I'd like to say when HP...

September - What are you Watching?

Hmmm... Weeds Californication 4400 I'm debating Brotherhood. I haven't started it, but I heard good things about it...so I might try it. I tried Tudors....that show is silly....Rome was much better. looking forward to Stargate Atlantis starting up again this month. I'm waiting on BSG and...

    Any female game masters?

I've generally enjoyed all the games I've played in with a female as the DM. Stories tend to be better. The world more detailed.

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Physical Copy

What I liked: #1 The extra details on the npcs. I never know if one of my villains is going to survive or not, so the extra detail is great. It allows me to expand on them in the future. In a similar vein, I appreciate that the adventure listed options if certain people survived. The...

    Necromancer's City of Brass

I finally got my copy of the box set. It is heavy! That was my first impression since I am use to the box sets of old...where there was air inside them. On first glance at the material inside...pure awesome. I know I'm going to be using it in my games.

    Giant Spider Web in Texas

still the best part for me was the mosquitoes quote....I'm going to have to add that to my swamps.... that the players hear the screech of millions of insects caught in the webs...

    Changes to Devils and Demons

I think I would have had less of a problem if they had made the erinyes and the succubus a yugoloth that played/manipulated everyone. I don't like the fallen angel aspect; however as has been pointed out several myths include such an instance. Before I worry too much, I'd like to find out...

    Giant Spider Web in Texas

Ok this is getting my gamer inspiration flowing... a 200 yard spider web in a Texas Park I can't wait for them to investigate and find the goblin snacks in the web...my favorite quote from the article was this "There are times you can literally hear the screech of millions of mosquitoes...

Favorite Pirate city: Freeport vs. Five Fingers vs. Sasserine

"I'm Brannich Blacksmoke!" I like Scuttlecove and the silly elements in Freeport killed it for me. I don't have nor seen Five Fingers, so I can't pick it. It might be good since it won some awards. It would need to be dark for me though..... Dang I never saw that...Eric does kick ass. For...

Inquest Magazine - Dead after September

Admittedly I was never interested in Inquest. I'm not a CCG fan. However I miss my Dragon and Dungeon magazines. Every day I go to the mailbox and all I expect to find is bills. At least with print magazines I had something to look forward to every month in the mail.

What do you like about Planescape?

two quick reasons.... I liked how it made the planes playable at all levels. and I liked all the tidbits that were given for the planes such as in Limbo (or any chaotic) with the right proficiency you could control the environment around you making buildings, plants, and even animals.

Dr Who -- kinda lame this season

Blink was my hands down favorite of the season. It creepped out my SO for about a week. The Shakespeare Code would probably be my 2nd favorite of the season mostly for the quotes... I liked "The Family of Blood" better than the first part...mostly for the ending...it just fits with the way...

The best value in gaming is gone...

The magazine was great except for some interview with some up and coming newbie called Eric Mooner or Moanher or something like that....just weird... ;) seriously Kobold Quarterly had a great first issue. I highly recommend getting a subscription.

Do you still use your 3.0 books?

Heck I still use Fluff from 1st and 2nd edition...of course I'm going to continue using 3rd ed books. The parts I'll probably exclude are the crunch books unless I'm trying to recreate something (probably a monster) that hasn't been converted.
