I already mentioned Obi-Wan above, who took Vader to the cleaners twice.

This is one of those pieces of information that immediately makes me go "Hmmm...."

D&D General Reassesing Robert E Howards influence on D&D +

I still really enjoy the original REH stories. The man could really write. His prose is very evocative, and he makes his characters believable. I've tried a few of the stories by other authors, and none of them come close at all.

    Terrible sequels

    Stayin' Alive comes to mind.

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

But with Lanasa as your client it might seem the lesser of two evils... (Exaggerated for comic effect, obviously.)

    Your most pointless TV/movie/book nitpicks

At the very least, I'm sure the first thing you do is look at distance to the sun.

AI is stealing writers’ words and jobs…

With AI on the rise, presumably it will be Silicon Heaven. (As they say in Red Dwarf, it has to exist. Otherwise, where do all the calculators go?)

    Your most pointless TV/movie/book nitpicks

That's the one. Then there's the episode where the ghost of Ray's dad shows up as well. I should dig out the DVDs.

    Your most pointless TV/movie/book nitpicks

All the Mounties have been gassed. Fraser: "They should be waking up about... now." All the Mounties wake up and start singing where they left off. I almost forgot about Fraser's dad.

@RAKNAAK, I just want to say that Kaz the Minotaur was one of my favourite Dragonlance/D&D novels.

    Your most pointless TV/movie/book nitpicks

One thing that gets me riled up about modern movies and television is how they handwave travel, particularly in period pieces. And make the societies seem like modern rich people who just flit around and show up at each other's houses unannounced. In one episode of the series Reign, Mary (the...

AI is stealing writers’ words and jobs…

I've been hanging out on various forums for fiction writers lately, and the feelings are twofold. On the one hand, there's some concern. This is mostly among people with a fairly generic style, or those who use writing tools to enhance their writing. On the other, there's quite a bit of...

    Your most pointless TV/movie/book nitpicks

That's hilarious. One of the things he doesn't point out is in the battle scene (after Priam first shouts "Archers!"). Most of the soldiers are just standing around tapping their swords together.

    rewatching Lord of the Rings

Totally agree. I watched the Ralph Bakshi the day before I went to see Fellowship, and I was actually dreading it. After so much anticipation, I decided it could never live up to my expectations. That lasted until about 10 seconds into the movie. When the Star Wars sequels were being made...
