    LEB - Upcoming Adventures Thread

I'd love to, but I'm full up on PCs. Sooner or later I'll be able to retire Gren and maybe bring in something else.

Player wants to be with the bad guys

It sounds very much like his character concept doesn't fit your campaign concept. Either ask him to change his character concept or to take a break. You can't please all of the people all of the time. Alternately, let him think he's gotten what he wants. He wants guns outside the swamp? Give...

Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

Aperion, just as an FYI: L4W has its own pantheon of gods, drawn from greek and roman mythology. There's more info in the wiki. Unfortunately, Ioun isn't a part of that pantheon (as cool as she is). That said, check out Mireva in the wiki, she'll likely be the closest fit you'll find...

Discussion: What to do about themes, if anything.

It seems necessary at this point to choose either Dark Sun style themes or CC style themes and move forward from there. The two don't seem overly compatable.

    LEB - Tavern Patrons

It's been nearly 4 months since Farce has posted. I'm going to pull Malik off the first post. I can always add him again later if Farce returns.

Proposal: Disallow themes until further notice. :PASSED:

Having now seen what they brought out for themes in this month's articles, I think the community would be better served by creating our own themes. Barring that, I think themes should be left out of L4W. I'd love to see themes show up as a pillar of character creation in L4W. I'd love to see...

    [Adventure]The Eye of the Tiger(Judge: ???)

I could've sworn I posted this on Friday... Gren Ghosts forward to inspect the possible rear entrance. Afterwards he'll return to the group to report his findings.

[Adventure] The Mine-Militia Identity. (DM: horticulture; Judge: covaithe)

As they pass the human, Felix will remove any weapons at hand. He doens't want to see this thing get up and stab them in the back.

Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

Apologies all, I've been without internet for the last 2 days The seneshal hears Fredrock's beckoning and, with a sigh, moves over to their table. "I am afraid, friend dwarf, that the tale is not mine to tell. I am here for my master. He needs an item retrieved and would prefer that the...

So there will be 1 troll on this thread, I can already tell

There are about 100 monsters in the MM1 under level 6. Check the back of the book. There's a table with all of the monsters, sorted by level. There should be a pretty decent variety including 2 or 3 dragons, some drakes, humans, and a variety of other monsters. Try checking out your FLGS...

So there will be 1 troll on this thread, I can already tell

Recharge powers are detailed on pg. 7 of the MM. As an example for a dragon, the Young Black Dragon on p. 75: The Dragon can use his Breath Weapon once*. It is a conditional encounter power. Which means you can use it once per fight, unless certain conditions are met. *At the start of...

[Adventure] The Mine-Militia Identity. (DM: horticulture; Judge: covaithe)

"Pleased to meet you Fix." Felix says with a genuine smile. He calls out to the group, "Found his key. I've also got a fist full of coins and this armor looks salvageable. Prime, think you can put it to use?"

They've also got a Utility that lets that add 1 to a d20 roll (1d4 if you spend a PP) made by you or an ally. The wording isn't clear if this is before or after you know the result of the roll.

I'm playing in a Dark Sun campaign with 12 PCs (2/player). One of which is a Noble Adept. I've now run 2 other campaigns using themes and seen 2 other Noble adepts. My math works pretty much directly counter to yours. People really need to stop exaggerating the ammount of Noble Adepts...

[Adventure] The Mine-Militia Identity. (DM: horticulture; Judge: covaithe)

I'm certainly not opposed to leveling, but I also don't see the adventure lasting terribly much longer. I do have a character waiting in my brain, hoping to escape, though. Also, Felix's statblock follows. Edit: Also, don't foget about that huge pile of time XP we'd be getting... It might even...

I think that's a misconception perpetrated by the CO boards. The encounter powers given by themes are about on par with most encounter powers. None of them compare to the top tier powers from any class, but they're uniformly better than the poorer choices from most classes.

It may be easier to make a generic "fill in the gap" theme like "Expert." -All experts get one extra encounter from their base class. While a Slayer doesn't inherently have encounter powers, they are still fighters. I'm an Expert *Class*, therefore I've got a bit of an edge on those other...

LEB Discussion Thread '10 Pt 2

I've felt, for about as long as there've been themes, that the design space they fill would be well suited for Dragonmarks. I'm sure there are other themes that suit Eberron as well, but this stands out as the best use of that space, for me. Has anyone else entertained this thought? I...

    L4W Discussion Thread V

A lot of those listed above seem like they would already fit within another theme. How would "Student of the Great Library" differ from the more general "Scholar?" "Soldier" and "Mercenary," while certainly different concepts, seem to fit the same niche. "Tactician," Likewise, could fit...

[Adventure] The Mine-Militia Identity. (DM: horticulture; Judge: covaithe)

Felix stands agape, listening to Sharpe and the dragon. It's when Sharpe actually uses the phrase "Evil dark lord" that Felix realizes he can't take the bard seriosly anymore. Obviously the man was delusional. Silently smirking, he heads off to retrieve his longsword and check the bodies of...
