D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

If the story is good they get my $60. If the story is bad, what do I get from wizards of the Coast for being subjected to bad fantasy? As a member of ENWorld we can all agree THAT is the greatest indignity known to man.

D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

There's like 500 years of consumer capitalism between Hernan Cortes and Reese's, and if WotC had written 500 years of history with a high level of verisimilitude I might be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
  3. Misanthrope Prime

D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

Historically, the purple dragons were just the name of the human military of the nation of Cormyr. Cormyr itself is basically like your standard fairy tale Arthurian goodly feudal kingdom, and is a pretty mundane setting as far as Dungeons & Dragons go. The officer corps of the purple dragon...

Purple Dragon Knight Retooled as Banneret in D&D's Heroes of Faerun Book

Not only does the Drakewarden exist but the paladin also has more mechanical support for a class that Simmons a mount than the fighter. If you wanted to make a "dragon knight" subclass separate from the Drakewarden a paladin would be better than a fighter.

D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

I'm actually quite bullish on the book; I'm looking forward to the Calimshan bits. But I think the purple dragon knights being turned into the Green lantern corps is naughty word goofy

    D&D General Kara Tur 5e

Could be, but I think fangshi may be better suited as a wizard subclass.

In the past decade or so Chinese language fantasy fiction has really taken off, and now there really is no reason for a western creator to be ignorant of them. So many of the character options in OA were based on Japanese archetypes: here are some distinctly fantastic but uniquely Chinese ideas...

Purple Dragon Knight Retooled as Banneret in D&D's Heroes of Faerun Book

I think one thing that we are all overlooking is the fact that like purple dragons or amethyst dragons are not that numerous in the D&D setting. They're also like... One of the weirder creatures of d&d: crystalline psychic dragons obsessed with the outer planes. Why would they have any...

Your prediction isn't even that unique. You basically described half the plot of Riders of the Purple Wage. Congratulations! You've caught up to 1960s Sci-Fi.

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

The real threat of AI art isn't that it will replace great art, but that it will replace mediocre art. Most working artists aren't making masterpieces like Rembrandt, or honestly, even doing cool stuff like fantasy RPG covers. Most working artists make furry porn and corporate graphic design...

I'm not a mental health professional but believing everything is a fake created by AI with no evidence is usually indicative of psychiatric issues. Seek help.

So to clarify Purple Dragon Rook and Spellfire Spark are the only new origin feats? Do we know what the text of the spark feat is?

D&D General Amazon Links For Adventures In Faerun & Heroes of Faerun already available on US Amazon.

I think it's very clear the horror subclasses are coming in the astarion DLC and the arcane subclasses are coming in the netheril DLC, so the next UA should give us a hint for the next DLC
