Do your PCs spend money on non adventureing things?

Several?!? I purchased *one* set TYVM, 'YarnGirl'. ;) And they came out handy to keep the Alliance from questioning us now didn't they? Do you want in on the blackmail pictures of the Captin or not? ;)

Sigil NPC list, Venues list and Map downloads

Re: the problem with Works - it may be that that program is just so elderly compared to Excel which was what the file was created with. And unfortunately, given the type of data in the file - excel is your ideal format. With that sort of situation in mind, I'm currently working on creating a...

Do your PCs spend money on non adventureing things?

Lawyering classes and the test for passing the bar - that's my current character's 'frivolous' thing. Makes it fun if anyone tries to sue the party... we have our own lawyer. We have a number of players whose characters are working on buying land or investing in businesses they own already. One...

Astaroth. Wasn't he a devil or something?

New to EN World, have some general questions about being a DM

City games are a favorite of mine - but that's cause I get a little Shadowrun in my DnD and vice versa. ;)

New to EN World, have some general questions about being a DM

Random encounters are rolled by hour in an area as I recall.... ;) Also, if you put some sort of time restriction on their work (get in before guards rotate etc.) that may force them to speed things up. Otherwise - let it be. It's not much skin off the players backs for the extra oxygen...

Do you allow murder within the party?

I've only allowed something along those lines when it had built up to a nearly justifiable point, and it was clear to the player that his character was just Not Working. After the player was cleared on that and ready to start up a new one... my SR team let loose. ;)

    Scholarly Books on Ghost stories

North Carolina is rife with ghost stories, a good number of them you've probably already heard: http://www.secstate.state.nc.us/kidspg/legends.htm http://www.amazon.com/Devils-Tramping-Carolina-Mystery-Stories/dp/1419128191 http://www.amazon.com/Tar-Heel-Ghosts-John-Harden/dp/0807806609/ For...

    Chinese inspried monsters

There's the Chinese Pantheon to work with as well. Also you may want to pick up a translation of Journey to the West to take a look at as a cultural resource.

How Do You Scan These Threads?

RSS Feed for the forums I like (RPG and Storyhour boards). That way I have an ongoing updated set of thread titles to look over without having to load a slow page. I use the Sage extension for Firefox.

    Heist Based Adventure

Cutaways are great :) I use them in Shadowrun too when I have to.

    Heist Based Adventure

Have you ever run a Shadowrun game - and just as importantly, have your players ever played one? Cause that's exactly the scenario you're describing here, so you may want to look up some advice on how to run those games to help you out. Re: Distraction - don't worry about it. That's not your...

How to get rid of the adversarial tone in the game

What Crothian said. You need to establish their trust in you.

If you had to cut two core races from your game....

Halfling, dwarf. I say this b/c it seems those two races never really show up at all in our games. Gnomes are allowed to remain b/c they make great kickballs for our NE thief. ;)

Monstrous Races in Sigil - Which Ones?

Let me know if you run into any troubles with any of those releases - I'm gonna be going through them in the next few weeks to fix up some of the errata we've worked out since they were first released and get artwork in - so let me know if anything stands out. :)

Monstrous Races in Sigil - Which Ones?

In a Planescape game petitioners are one of the few things you don't see in Sigil. Petitioners stay in their gods domain, or on their native plane - they're tied to it and are in a way a part of that place already. Should they die off their plane they won't merge with it - so petitioners as a...
